I intend to boycott Canelo until he fights GGG, and i assume the real boxing fans in this forum are going to as well.
    That's the problem..."the real fans!"

In case you've missed it, with the absence of Floyd Mayweather from the current boxing scene, Canelo is the biggest draw in the sport. What constitutes a fighter being a big draw? Well, it's a simple deduction - said fighter announces who he's fighting and then the receipts are tabulated. Canelo fought a junior welterweight in his last bout as a heavy favorite and the fight was a moderate success financially, and that was despite the fact that there wasn't a single boxing observer who knew anything worth knowing about ring combat who gave Khan a snowball’s chance to win. Opposed to Golovkin, whose only PPV bout as the headliner against a legitimate and hard punching opponent in David Lemieux, ended up being a financial disaster, registering roughly 150,000 buys. That's fascinating! Fans and writers praise Golovkin as being the next great must-see fighter, yet they didn't turn out to see him fight a real opponent when they had to pay for it. And that's the reason why I'm tired of hearing writers and fans cry like a baby because Alvarez is ducking Golovkin.

I hope you're serious about the boycott, but we'll see. Do you think the fans would boycott Canelo vs. Cotto II ?

Where is the proof it was a financial disaster? The total purses were 3.5 million, and they had a 2 million gate. 150,000 * 50(low end)= 7.5 million / 2 = 3.75 million = not a financial disaster. Not May-Pac obviously, but for the sizes of the purse the ppv did its job.

To the second point: I'm extremely serious about the boycott though. I have 0 interest in any opponent except GGG. This "business" decision ducking is getting out of control, and absolutely destroying the sport.

        So why would Canelo's ?
Oh I dunno maybe because this has been the biggest witch hunt against a professional boxers this year, even pro boxers are calling him out for being a diva.

        His reputation is damaged badly.

If Mayweather, Pacquiao, or Canelo had only 150K in PPVs, I think we would consider that a disaster. Why not GGG?

Well Mayweather's gtd is 16 times that of GGG, and Pacquiao's is 10 times that of GGG, and Canelo's is 5 times that of GGG. It matters how much you pay the fighter. If Mayweather/Pacquiao made 7-10 mill against Berto/Bradley then we could say that was a PPV success. However, both were complete financial disasters.

            • Lara calling out Golovkin will be a permanent fixture here at boxingscene. It's a one-sided story without the middle and ending part. Loeffler doesn't read forums, obviously. Lara is just all talk. He won't tell his management team which included Haymon to do the fight for him. The media won't talk to GG people about Lara. People need to move on and just let these articles get buried deep in time. There's nothing in this.

New day, same thing from you

Maybe they are calling but GGG is chasing Canelo though he has no belts. Or maybe GGG hears the phone ringing but keeps answering the door

Well I guess it's gonna take a while for GGG's purse to increase if he can only draw 150K PPVs. Like I said, Lotizero has a good point, because fans, writers, promoters, etc. all say GGG is "must-see TV' yet they didn't support his PPV. Everyone hates on Mayweather and Canelo, yet they continue to purchase their fights. Something has to change, and only the fans can do it!

Decubas is a useless manager in the Lara camp. All he can do is tweet like a teenager. They're doing the same damn thing expecting different results. Mind boggling to see such adults with long years of experience in the business, but can't use a damn phone and can't talk to their fellow human beings in the business.

Anybody can call out anybody. What's so special about it? Khan called out the best eva for years, but didn't get the fight. But at least Khan talked to everybody, Haymon, Hoya, Arum, everyone.

Read this yesterday...almost word for word.

Keep hoping it gets buried so GGG can go on fighting the Monroes of the world.
