I think Postol has the goods to out-box Crawford and he has a decent-enough chin, such that him getting KO'd seems unlikely, especially if he keeps him on the outside - which he is more than capable of. I think the 2 limiting factors on Postol being able to defeat Crawford are his mentality on the night and, I hate to say it, his coaching team. Postol's mentality is the lesser of these 2 potential problems.
Yeah sure, if Postol doesn't turn up with a clinical attitude, he may get drawn into inside brawls which will suit Crawford but I can't see that happening. Postol is very disciplined. Ironically, I don't think Crawford's chances of winning have much to do with what Crawford brings. Crawford may have some degree of flexibility in his styles and tactics but Postol is the superior boxer fundamentally.
As I say, the major issue here for me is Roach and the rest of the coaching staff... the last few years, Roach has lost his edge and is no longer capable of shaping champions or even getting the best out of his fighters. I don't know what it is that has caused this, maybe it's just complacency on Roach's part?? Whatever it is, whenever I see Roach is in the corner, it puts doubts in my mind. I don't think Postol got lucky with Matthyse but I do think he should've done better than he did, and I blame Roach for that. If Postol doesn't perform at his best, Crawford will punish him, no doubt, but it's in Postol's hands to give away. However, Roach is a liability at this point.
Long story short: Postol needs to be on his game; Roach doesn't help him achieve this
This is the fight that I am most looking forward to right here. Two excellent boxing machines pitted in battle. Going with Crawford to hurt Postol down the stretch and drop him in the 9th round. Crawford wins by TKO/KO in the 10th.
