1) Keith "One Time" Thurman is my favorite fighter. I've said this before. And I'll make it clear to you now so you know what's up. GGG is in my top-3, that's for sure. Although I was on the Roman Gonzalez bandwagon for much longer. I'm a boxing fan first & foremost. If a boxer is doing something I don't like, I'll say I don't like it. I have no hangups whatsoever of calling a cherry pick a cherry pick.

2) RE: GGG's resume. Yes, it's not very strong. But only from certain point-of-views do you attack it. You don't leave any room for the circumstances or reasons for taking those fights. Some of those can be considered cherry picks. But not Rubio, because that's how he became the WBC mandatory (which put him in the position he is in now in regards to Canelo)...a cherry pick, but a necessary cherry pick...Murray was a tough SoB who was easily a top-5 MW at the time (& is not a top SMW since moving up)...not a cherry pick...Wade was a mandatory, & if GGG wanted to keep his belts, he had to take the fight...a cherry pick, but a necessary fight; & Adama & Munroe was they best they could do one finding credible opponents...GGG was still an unknown then. Hey, I don't like cherry picks either. But it is what it is. GGG is a stay busy boxer. Back when he fought Adama, he was only known by hardcore boxing fans. Now look at him. So, no, I don't believe as you do in thinking that GGG's resume is as weak as you say it is. But isn't this an exercise in futility for you? Shouldn't you be pressuring the other top fighters to take the GGG fight rather than the other way around? Have you not seen the excuses from some of these guys? Wouldn't that be the better option?

3) RE: Ward. You failed to read between the lines. When I said he can't make 168 anymore, what was meant was that his 2-year inactivity might have forced his body to grow. The case can be made that he was already on his way to 175 when he fought a tune-up against Paul Smith at 172...before he signed the 3-fight deal with HBO. And the other piece of evidence is that he fought in the amateurs at LHW. But went down to SMW when he entered the pros. He had to melt to 168 his whole career. So, in essence, what I meant when I query Ward being able to make 168, I meant that as a rhetorical question. Rhetorical. You see that...Ward is a show-me fighter in regard to GGG. Can he even melt down to 168 anymore now that he's going to campaign at 175? That one is not rhetorical. Because for Ward to demand a fight at 168 & no longer make 168...wouldn't the whole argument be moot? And if Ward cannot make 168, wouldn't the bout have to be made at 175 or a CW of 172?...wouldn't that mean that GGG is climbing up 2 weight classes? Do the math please.

4) RE: FMJ. Actually, the reverse is true. You have to look at it from the smaller fighter's position. Comparing FMJ to Ward is not the same because Ward would have to come down for GGG. And you're totally forgetting the FMJ factor. Ward doesn't have that extra intangible to his career the way FMJ, self-proclaimed TBE, has had to thread. FMJ gets a different standard as a generational fighter. So, looking at it from the parallels of GGG to FMJ, GGG is moving up to a weight division he's never competed in versus FMJ going to defend belts he won at a weight class he actually has competed in before...these 2 situations are not the same thing. There it is. Spelled out for you. The challenge for GGG to go up to fight Ward at 168 is a greater challenge for FMJ to defend belts he won at 154. It's just that simple. Therefore, mister TBE FMJ was straight talking smack when he said GGG was "easy work." He never intended on fighting him. And if he does, I'll eat my words.

5) RE: Canelo. GGG wouldn't fight Canelo at 155 for the principle of defending the MW. The principle. Are you defending Canelo now? One might stand to reason that GGG can actually melt down to 154...but chose not to melt down to 155 on the principle of the MW belt. I can believe that from a sport perspective. It would be honorable. Once again, Canelo is a show me fighter because if he wants to say he is not a MW...well, then show me & go back down to 154. But if he doesn't fight GGG & fights somebody at 155, then that already is evidence he is a MW. He just chooses to melt down an extra 5 lbs for the helluva it. If Canelo cannot make 154, what is he?...he's a MW. Deal.

The only difference is Canelo was staring the GGG fight right in the eye...everything was set up for him to fight GGG: the belt, the money, the hype. Everything is set up for this fight. That's completely opposite for Lara, who only has him calling GGG out as the reason for him to get the fight. Totally 2 different things. You somehow took 2 different things & combined them into your narrow black-&-white view of the boxing world. There has to be more than just a boxer calling another boxer out to make the fight. And especially if we're talking about prize fighting, there isn't much prize in it for GGG, is there?...in comparison to fighting Canelo or Jacobs or BJS?...those have more factors, making them stronger candidates. GGG might very well take the Lara fight. But it's a mistake to jump the gun when we still don't know if the Canelo fight can be made or not. I'm so glad you could see things my way.
