** Actually, you have to question the rankings. Fattyboy Toney is shot and has yet to beat a prime heavy contender. Briggs and Peter would knock him into KFC across town.

Noone else caught that? Long is a God awful boxer to be shown on even ESPN. he loses 1/4 of his fights. Isnt his rec like 14-8 now? I could be long as I havent actaully looked it up.

Also on whose rankings is Toney in third?

I thought it was universally similar to this
      Wlad
      Sergei
      Brewster
      Rahman
      Valeuv
      Byrd
      Toney

      EDIT

just looked up longs rec, even worse than i thought.

Same rec but he loses to god aweful boxers aswell. Samuel Peter shouldn't move up in rank at all, this fight was to hype him because Long is huge and people actually know him because he is huge. He beat a bum that has name recognition, because he is tall.

Samuel Peter puts some fun back into heavyweight boxing, and for that reason he's one of the best guys out there for the sport. I just hope he can control his weight and come in a good 20 pounds lighter than how he showed up tonight.

I agree that he still needs to beat a prime heavy, maybe after beating Oleg Maskaev he will beat on Rahman in a rematch. By the way, Toney being a "shot" fighter and all sure gave Rahman (who was in great shape) a thorough schooling. Testament to his skills.

I disagree Shannon Briggs and especaily Sam Peter could take Toney out, Toney is too technicaly sound to get caught by a savage haymaker. They do have a punchers chance though.

When you're only 5'9", slow moving, and grossly out of shape, sometimes skill isn't enough. You realize the effect a Samuel Peter body punch would have on Toney right? He wouldn't need to land on James's head. Also, have you noticed that the first time Toney fought a good puncher in Rahman (who didn't throw many big punches) he lost? Toney will never take a fight with S. Peter or anyone who can really punch.

we all have to agree tho that Sam Peter is Notn Speical, he is a one trick pony, his movement is awful, if we where in any other period in boxing we would not be even talking about him at this moment untill he steps up a few levels opponent wise,
