    why?

if there's a 154 lber not named floyd mayweather who gets a shot at golovkin, it's lara.

i think the only thinga bout the charlo fight is that it's more realistic to be made monetarily. i've heard that lara wants three million, according to the rumor mill. that's a ppv purse. maybe charlo will fight for a million dollars, golovkin a bit less than twice that, and they could make the fight on regular championship boxing.

still, haymon's not likely to risk an asset like charlo early in his career for 1 million just to have him move up and fight a puncher. big charlo looks to be the significantly better and more potent of the twins, and he does box well, but how big and potent is he going to look against the hardest punching, most durable MW on the planet?

when people bring up these jr MW's, i've said form the start that lara is the guy. he's not a MW, but he's been around long enough, and he's better than little willie wade. that said, lara legit still has vanes problems, as even the ****ING REMATCH was close .

does golovkin need a rematch against vanes? you tend to doubt it . does vanes do a single thing better than golovkin? cut off the ring better? harder puncher to the body? the head? better chin? better jab? better boxer? deeper amateur background? a single thing? i don't even think he's faster / sharper.

And the amount of weight Gatti put on after the weigh in was meaningless

      idiot

Why pull up an isolated irrelevant example ?

      Anyone can do that.

When Garcia/Peterson fought at 141, so that the bout would not be sanctioned as a title fight..... did those guys magically become welters?

We are talking about a guy who has weighed 155 for THREE YEARS, and a guy who has weighed 160 for 11 years.

      FACT: 1 160 > 155

FACT: 2 fight-night weight is irrelevant

People who argue that JMW's are bigger than middleweights are totally clueless regarding weight, and are also totally clueless about what it takes to prepare for a professional boxing match.

It's just dumb, you should know better !

      Unsure why you don't ?

The total amount of functional muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is determined at the official weigh-in..... NOT 1 day later.

Rehydration-weight, or water-weight, will not help at all in that regard, and can even be detrimental.

Also, if Canelo is killing himself to make 155, like you all say..... then he will not be healthy for 12 rounds..... and yet, he was healthy for 12 rounds against Cotto.

So yea, insinuating that JMW's are bigger than middleweights is just dumb.

I NEVER imagined that I would ever have to explain to a boxing fan that middleweights are bigger than JMW's..... YOU ALL BE DUMB !!

Maybe he's not willing to use drugs or illegal methods to lose weight as other fighters do.

Then it sounds to me like he wrote a few check's with his mouth that he can't cash with his fists?

When a fighter does that..... you know, talks utter **** and then completely fails to back that **** up..... why blame the other guy?
