If you do any basic research into Haymon you'll see that he's been a private guy since day 1. I think he's got 2 or 3 interviews you can find & I think he mentions in all of them he doesn't usually give interviews during them. Clearly there is more going on with him & his reasons for avoiding the media than "he's doing something illegal".

Hell man I think most of the people in business who are doing illegal **** are either talking to the media themselves or they hire a crafty mfer who deals with the media so they can control that media spin. Haymon seems to do neither. Thats odd too to me.

He wasn't giving interviews when he managed New Kids on the Block. He's always been this way, as you said. Who cares, really? Whiny lil kids that's who. I love Cap'n Crunch but I don't care who the CEO of makers Quaker Oats or Pepsi are, let alone wonder why they're so "secretive."

haymon's been in lawsuits with most of the major promotors. they allege that he books venues / fights / dates and cancels them just to keep other fighters from being on TV, getting certain venues, or even just to make them a few months older before they fight again.

he's likely secretive about who he is and what he does because there are aspects of his business model that are illegal.

But has he had his office raided by the FBI??
Has he ever participated in scale rigging? Has he been raided by the feds for fixing fights? Has he ever been fined for bribing the sanctioning bodies??? Has he ever had a fight cancelled because he couldn't pay the purses??? Nope!!! That's all Bob Arum...
Only promoters who sued Haymon was corrupt GBP and Top Rank. Top Rank really lost both cases. Why should you care how he does his business. Is it affecting you??

Maybe Haymon learned the value of remaining behind the scenes from his time in the music promotion business. I think it's a smart move on his part. Besides, the boxers he manages seem to have access to him and appear happy with whatever he's doing.
