Why so much negativity for Parker?

I cant believe how much shyt people have talked about Parker? The guys not half as hyped up as Joshua and just faced a better opponent in Takam than both Joshua and Wilder.

Takam came in the shape of his life and rather than credit Parkers heart even courage to continue fighting those morons who couldnt lace a boot let alone gloves downplay his achievement?

He basically outsmarted the veteran and not just any old Tony Thompson a well seasoned proven Takam.

This is why boxing no longer gets a serious following when people watching cant even appreciate two big men potentially risking their lives.

Takam is a very good opponent

But you need to be winning by a big margin or knocking him out if you want to be put alongside the big names. Its probably disappointment more than anything, because theres the possibility that Parker might not be as a good as some hoped. It was a very close fight

I have no idea tbh, it was the boy's 19th pro fight and he's only 24, he's got a lot to improve on defensively, but he showed bags of grit and heart and got the job done, the experience he got from this can't be bought or taught, it's very valuable.

Takam is a very solid top 10 guy and was on even terms with NSB's hero Povetkin until he got caught

I thought it was a good fight for Parker. Excellent learning experience against a solid contender. Exactly what he needed at this stage of his career.

I don't think he has received hate, any proof of the hate?

I personally was not impressed pre-Takam and less so after. AJ destroys the kid, maybe even Whyte beats him. If Chisora comes in shape, he beats him too. Pulev, Pov, Ortiz, they all beat his ass too.

Parker slaps with his punches, every right hand he landed v Takam was inside glove. That's horrible, like a kids technique just starting out in the sport.

But his grit and chin impressed, then again you can say that about quite a few fighters. Parker is a decent pro but he'll never be the future of the division.

Parker did good and he deserves respect for that win.

Learned more in one fight than he has learned in his whole career so far.

Takam did everything better than all his prevoous opponents combined. He had a better chin, better reflexes, better anticipation, better technique, ring iq, heart etc etc. Parker dealt with that and came through to win a deserved decision.

No hate from me. He has plenty of time to correct his flaws if he trains hard and trains smart, and he showed some intangibles that you cant teach, his chin looked solid, his speed was great, his combos were crisp, and he showed plenty of heart too.

If he doesnt show progress in his next fight then it is time to start being critical imo. That would suggest he doesnt have what it takes to make it to the next level

A question for all the "MUH RESUME" f@gs.
Why didn't Takam's resume help him in this fight? He has better names on his resume than Parker does.
                What happened? lol

It was an interesting performance from Parker. The only negative for me is the stamina. He just seemed to inexplicably gas in the 5th round, stopped throwing his jab and went to the ropes. When fought off the front foot behind the jab and double jab he made it look ridiculously easy and Takam had no answer.

However for reasons unknown (maybe nerves, extra long training) by around round 5 he just looked completely shot and suddenly Takam was in the fight.

If he had had the stamina to stay behind the jab he could have just about shut Takam out and everyone would be talking about a great performance.

Still stands too high and comes out of clinches straight back.

Back to the stamina, it is something to be watched. When he fought Sherman Williams he went 10 rounds easy with a high work rate. Maybe the occasion got to him a little. Who knows.
