Rocky Marciano is the GOAT at HW, regardless of race. Why are we ranking fighters based on their skin color?

The Klitschko brothers are too big, strong, skilled and are capable of beating any heavyweight in history, black or white.
      Ross Purrity! Chris Byrd!

I'm really astonished to find out that I was fool enough to read the whole 23 pages of uninformed opinions. I was hoping to read some common sense and boxing expertise. There were a few, about a SINGLE HANDFUL.

Folks, don't you guys realise that Rocky Marciano was about the worst Heavyweight Champion in history. He never fought a SINGLE opponent who was in his prime or even CLOSE to it.

Folks,.....do me a favour. LOOK UP Marciano's OPPONENTS, and see how battle and age worn, poor records, and just qualifying as opponents they all were. LOOK AT THEIR "RECORDS", which taking everything into consideration, and understanding what's actually there, should convince you that they were almost all, set-ups and negative-record "fighters".

Consider that ALSO boxing was run by The Mafia, fighters, trainers, promoters etc.etc. This should tell you everything about that period.

I've seen every notable fighter since Joe Louis, and i can honestly say that none of them would be able to defeat either of the Klitschkos. They are just too skilled, to big, too fast and too powerful. They are ALWAYS in top shape, and win every round. This can fool the fringe boxing crowd (most of us) into thinkng that they are not "exciting" or that their opponents are "poor" or etc.etc. The fact is that they are so superior to their opposition. no matter who. The only Champions about whom this could have been said in the past are Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Tyson and Ali, in their primes and a bit afterwards.

Dempsey was mostly retired and chasing sex with Hollywood actresses during most of his Championship tenure. He was actually retired BEFORE he faced Tunney. BUT......he was far far bettetr than Marciano, but still just too small to get near the Klitsckos. Jess Willard was a well washed up fighter, never very good and semi retired when Dempsey beat him, and there are well substantiated reports that Dempsey's gloves were "loaded" a la Margarito.

When Willard " beat " Jack Johnson, Johnson was 37, VERY out of condition, and although much lighter and 6 inches smaller, STILL....won nearly every one of the first TWENTY FIVE rounds, only to go down exhausted in the
26 th. One has to consider EVERYTHING when judging the merits or otherwise of an important fight.

Vitaly Klitschko is virtually unbeaten, the point IS....... just look at how he wins. He has won almost (except for say 4-5 rounds TOTAL) EVERY ROUND of EVERY FIGHT he's had, even the 2 that went against him due to injuries.

Only a SINGLE fighter-near his own height, and a European Champ- went the distance with him, and as usual, lost EVERY round.

The same can be said for his brother Wladimir, whos 3 losses are as tainted as possible, and, except for the Sanders fight, he ALSO has won justy about every round in his over 50 fights including Brewster and Purrity, which fights went against him.

So guys, you just have to understand that today's fighters are far more gifted both physically and skill-wise. I except from this lot only Jack Johnson and Mike Tyson, who, in my opinion, had the all round skills to beat just about anyone in their prime.

But we're talking only of white fighters, and AGAIN, I place Marciano at the very bottom of the "heap".

Rocky Marciano was probably the best white heavyweight ever.

Jack Dempsey and Jim Jeffries were very good too.

I'd add Gene "The Fighting Marine" Tunney, but he spent most of his career at light heavyweight, where he was definitely the best ever of any race.

Youre forgetting Max Schmelling, Max Baer and Jack Sharkey. They were all great fighters in their prime.
