If GGG loses his Sept fight...

Would u still care about a ggg vs Canelo fight? Cause that's the hottest fight for GGG but in reality he can loose to Jacobs or Ramirez if he fights one of them 2 next. I don't know what happened to that Russian or German kid that KOd Jacobs but he would of been in the mix too

It would lose its luster that's for sure. He would have to redeem himself in a rematch for there to be a buzz again.

That might be the only way he gets Canelo to fight him.

I don't see Jacobs or Ramirez beating him though.

Dmitry Pirog retired with chronic back injuries.

I definitely think Golovkin could lose to Ramirez. The kid is tall, has long arms, and is heavier. More importantly, he can box. That's always a solid advantage to have in any fight.

Dmitry Pirog (the guy that KO'd Jacobs) and Golovkin were actually scheduled to fight prior to Pirog retiring due to serious injury.

You know, it's sad. If Golovkin beat Pirog before he retired, the haters would be now be calling Pirog, "a nobody who beat nobody", and then use that as an example that Jacobs was a bum to discredit GGG .

LOL at losing to either of those two, yet alone losing. Gennady isnt losing, he is the greatest fighter of all time and will retire undefeated. There is NOBODY, get it thru ur head, NOBODY, in BOXING HISTORY that could beat Gennady/survive his power.

Pirog and Golovkin were signed to fight each other in 2012. Pirog badly injured his back during training and hasn't fought since. He's Russian, btw.

He's announced comebacks a couple of times but his back problem keeps flaring up again whenever he starts serious training. It's a shame. Pirog was a talented and very unorthadox, unpredictable fighter, with a KO punch.

It would lose luster for sure. If either guy loses thats the case. And to a certain extent I don't care now cuz the moment is gone.

Tough situation for GGG. Whats he do now? Wait for Canelo, the Charlo's, Lara to come up & fight? Try to convince Jacobs or BJS to fight him for less then 10M or whatever they are asking? Move up to 168 & try to line up fights with the DeGale vs Jack winner or Ramirez? Nothing sounds great for GGG. Nothing ever sounds great for GGG cuz the allure of the big fight is so close yet so far away & the things above him aren't THAT good.
