why would ggg need canelo? he's already super popular, has 3 belts and mandatories to defend against, or he can move up to 168. sounds like he has plenty of options. what can canelo do? drain himself to 154 where there aren't any name fighters, move up to 160 which would confirm he ducked ggg, or continue fighting in 155 land or somewhere in between. he basically retired from fighting good competition. now he's just after that easy money.

He needs to get that belt off BJS if he wants to even be considered. Why would GGG go with Eubank Jr when he can get Saunders with a belt? Jr. and BJS were neck and neck in that fight so the only thing separating them is that belt, which GGG just happens to be chasing.
