Comments Thread For: Lara: Canelo Showed His Fear, I'll Fight Golovkin at Full 160

After his dominating points win over Delvin Rodriguez on Friday night in Chicago, Erislandy Lara and his reps weren't shy about expressing their desire to face WBA middleweight titlist, Gennady Golovkin. So have they dialed up K2 Promotions? "No, I haven't heard from his camp," said Tom Loeffler, the Managing Director of K2 Promotions, who has masterfully handled the career of 'GGG' the past few years.
Totally different going to your guys trainer and saying hey what about these guys. (which Tom did) or we got a call from PCB and these guys have put their hand up. So no word from the representatives just an in house discussion. Again it is all in the Verbage.Last edited by AneesMoha; 05-20-2016, 03:05 PM.Comment

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs), believes Erislandy Lara (21-2-2, 12KOs) has done absolutely nothing to deserve a shot at his boxer. In the last few months, Lara - who holds the WBA/IBO titles at junior middleweight - has demanded a fight with Golovkin. Lara is not alone. Former WBC 154-pound champion Sergio Mora was also calling for a shot at Golovkin.
"When Tom came to me and offered Lara and Sergio Mora, I'm the one who said 'I don't want those fights.' I'm the one who said that before there was a chance to have it discussed with Gennady. I told that to Tom, because first of all Lara has not earned the right to fight Golovkin. And the reason I say that is because he takes fights like Delvin, and Delvin is not a bad fighter but he doesn't belong at that level. He struggled with Delvin. Yes he won every round but he didn't do what he needed to do in order to be in the mix," Sanchez explained to BoxingScene.com.
"I don't know why he took his foot off the gas. He could have had Delvin out of there but he didn't. He could have done more to Canelo but he didn't. So that doesn't make him appealing to me and our team - and that's the reason why I turned him down."Comment

Yours is also from the same promoter that presented fights to Sanchez where he turned them down.
Did you even read the article you sent
"We're still trying to figure out the next date and what the next opponent for Gennady. Lara had his win on Friday but we're just going through to see who's the best opponent for Gennady at this point."
Loeffler answered - "I mean from our side we're pretty neutral. We do have an exclusive contract with HBO. I haven't approached the topic yet with HBO, if they would even approve someone like Lara. But if that becomes more of a serious conversation, that's something we'll certainly approach them with."
Then Sanchez turned them downLast edited by Fetta; 05-20-2016, 03:07 PM.Comment

From Sanchez's own mouth...

I have lost track of the excuses.
Lara is better than most GGG opponents, and GGG can beat him..... right ?
I hope that Lara gets more vocal, so that my collection of excuses from Loeffler can grow..... if they had 1 genuine reason, then they would state it..... but that guy has used every excuse in the book, it's so obvious.
Just like he did with Ward..... he used every excuse in the book, because he did not have 1 genuine reason.
Just like Pacquiao with the blood testing excuses..... he used a big bunch of silly excuses, because he did not have 1 genuine reason.
People gotta smarten up, it's obvious.Comment

"Lara been calling him out for over a year"
GGG Fans: No thats his manager
"Lara calls him out himself"
GGG Fans: Hes not serious just selling tickets.
"Lara calls him out on Friday"
GGG Fans: Well he has to say it SAturday for it to be real
GGG Fans: If Lara is serious then he should fight Jacobs to be mando to GGG
HAHA!! All this and to top it off Lara must fight a better fighter than GGG has EVER faced to get a shot.
Oh and i forgot "GGG will KO him so why do we need to see it"
It is a 24-hour excuse-a-thonComment

Lying?
From Sanchez's own mouth...
