Good news. Hopefully GBP follows suit. Cross promotions are a great thing for boxing.

Gilberto Ramirez is a nice fighter, but I don't think working with Gilberto Ramirez has enough upside to bother with the *****fit that would come whenever Arum wasn't allowed to get things, all the way his way.

Not unlike Don King, Bob Arum built his business by doing things his way and burning a ton of bridges with everyone.

He's made his bed, so he'll have to lay in it.

      I agree, great post.

Fk Arum, he made his bed, he can lie in it.

Arum could feed Timothy Bradley to Haymon fighters. Notably Keith Thurman.

              Top Rank still has:
              Terence Crawford
              Felix Verdejo
              Vasyl Lomachenko
              Timothy Bradley
              Juan Manuel Marquez
              Gilberto Ramirez
              Brandon Rios
              Jessie Vargas
              Nicholas Walters

Lots of good fights to be made at Welterweight, and hopefully on the PBC platform so these guys get more exposure.

Timothy Bradley is a good fighter, but I don't think the boost of Thurman fighting Tim Bradley (who is coming off of an L) would be worth the headache of working with Bob Arum (Thurman-Bradley is a fight that is obviously in the PBC/Showtime/SHOPPV orbit, so the promotional duties will be handled by DiBella if in New York, Tom Brown if in California, Mayweather/TGB if in Vegas, or Leon Marguilles if the fight heads to Florida; Arum is a passenger, for no other reason than he's wrecked enough relationships in so many markets that he's basically toxic in most places).

If things go the way that most folks expect (Kell Brook throttling Jessie Vargasin August), Haymon has Thurman-Porter winner(WBA, in June), Garcia-Berto winner(WBC, likely for July), Kell Brook (IBF/WBO), Amir Khan(WBC mandatory), Errol Spence Jr(IBF eliminator), Adrien Broner, and Sammy Vasquez Jr (WBC eliminator), among other fighters to work with at 147.

Haymon's not hurting for options in the least.

LOL at so many people thinking this lawsuit going away has anything to do with Haymon & Arum willing to do business with each other. Arum doesn't even like doing business with others at all. The GBP/TR beef has been over for a year or two & these guys aren't really working together. And why would a promoter wanna do that? Arum is great at moving guys up & then he has two guys fight who he built up & then he wins either way. Thats the smart way for a promoter to do business. When guys get to the superstar level than you can bring guys in. Or if something is a super fight like Manny vs Floyd you can co-promote. But mainly my point is why would Arum wanna do business with Haymon or anyone else if you see what he's been doing for decades. All you do is risk your guys value & potentially bump up another promoters guy. From a promoters point of view this is more risk than you need to be doing in the boxing business.

                    Damn.

I would say that Lance Pugmire is going to get blackballed from Top Rank events now....except he writes for an important paper.

                      ^^^fixed for you

At 147, you're basically looking at Top Rank having Bradley, Vargas, and Terrence Crawford to work with (Ponomarev gets beat by Spence Jr, and that fight is already due next basically).

With the cost of getting access to those talents being having to work with Bob Arum (no one seems to have issues with Todd DuBoef), I doubt that those guys get any extra exposure from Haymon.
