Comments Thread For: Ramirez Raises Hand To Represent Mexico Against Golovkin

Earlier today Golden Boy Promotions sent out a press release stating that WBC middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez decided to relinquish his title which freed him from the pressure of following the two week negotiating period mandated by the WBC to come to an agreement to fight his mandatory challenger, WBA/IBF/IBO/WBC interim champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.

GGG already said his name wasn't big enough. So that idea is out the door.

That's a good fight I would like to see, but this is an instance where it does make sense to wait just a bit.. This fight should be built up for next May, summer or September in 2017.

Ramirez has just hit big but let him get 2 maybe 3 televised bouts over the next 8 months or so.. This would be one of the biggest fights to make in 2017..

          2016 should be Canelo/Ggg
          2017 should be Ramirez/Ggg

It would definitely be a harder fight than Canelo with far less $$$ involved. Can't seem him jumping up in weight before unifying all the belts.

I'm not sure he is the best right now.. He really only has abraham as a signature win..
Let him beat guys like groves, degale, jack, anthony dirrell before we pronounce him the best..
But he is slowly becoming a big draw in boxing and could be a big money fighter a year or so from now..
