Yea Stevenson had a nice run no doubt about that, but despite respecting him going his own way once HBO didn't match Showtime's offer I think Stevenson has dropped the ball on his career for the most part since that change. I think he's gone progressively into lesser & lesser fights since. No question Stevenson is skilled, but I believe you need to be constantly beating a highly caliber of guy than he's been beating.

he'll put stevenson vs Kovalev or beterbiev when stevenson is ready to retire to cash out.
Idk what the situation is with Stevenson. Even the guys people say are fighting bs guys with PBC got nothing on the lack of challenges Stevenson has taken upon himself. From most accounts I've seen Haymon talks to the fighters about guys they wanna fight & guys they feel like they can beat & from that point they find an opponent to avoid issues with the Muhammad Ali Act I'm assuming. So more or less Stevenson is coming up with his own resume is the problem with what he's done recently.

And also GYM (Stevenson's & Beterbiev's promoter) has stated he won't match them up so that fight probably won't ever happen.

i think the fix is in. I got williams. Stevenson is gonna have to lose to somebody and im sure haymon wants it to be williams instead of alvarez or beterbiev

What I remember of him vs Rodriguez was he was always open, gassed til yhe landed that one big punch ...I can't see him being that open and being subjected to the punching power of Stevenson I'll take Stevenson...

Would love to see the young fighters start to knock off these older fighters who got to the top and STOPPED TRYING and now hide behind their Promoters and Powerful Adviser

Nothing against Stevenson but since signing with Haymon he has been taking the easiest route possible to hold on to that WBC Belt

Isn't this the guy who got slapped around and quit vs an ancient Campillo a few years back? Can't imagine this is going to last long

Remember when all of us fans were excited when Stevenson knocked out Dawson? Gave the division another jolt and we all looked forward to a showdown with Kovalev. Seems like so long ago

Is there any more of a disappointing champion boxing than Adonis Stevenson?

It's pretty sad to watch him hold back as to not show the embarrassment of riches he has over these crappy opponents.

It's worse for STevenson than Kovalev because Stevenson has less of an array of punches and he probbaly has more one punch power than Sergei, so he has to be careful how he throws otherwise he might KO the guy by accident when he was trying to give the crowd a couple of rounds.

Yeah these days he knows he's in easy and he fights as such. In cruise control most of the time, knowing he can step it up and get the KO at any time basically. Eventually it should come back to bite him, normally it would.... but he's got that devastating equalizer of a punch and he knows how to set it up, and will go to the well with it when need be.

Hopefully Williams makes him work harder than normal and makes this fight feel relevant

I'm very excited to see a young hungry contender step up and fight Stevenson. He's as ready as he'll ever be. He's a good fighter, but I'll have to disagree with him on Stevenson's boxing ability, IQ, experience and athleticism. Stevenson is very very good and is no doubt still number 2 in the division. I have to favor Stevenson but give Williams a very real chance of taking the belt home. He's a capable fighter with good skills and lots of knowledge coming up in the DMV area, one of America's better boxing scenes. Alvarez is up next for the winner, but I want to see Beterbiev get his shot as well. Even though there's no Kovalev in the mix PBC has a strong light heavyweight roster, with plenty of good fights to keep whoever goes on as the WBC champ. Problem is Stevenson has been choosing the easiest challenge to cash out. He's older and I can't blame him for wanting to make some good money. One of these young guns is going to get him though. And if he's able to run through them all, we need to tip our hat to him as a good defending champion.
