He won the vacant WBC MW belt. Cotto had it, but refused to pay the $300k sanctioning fee for the fight with Canelo, so the WBC stripped him. Maybe he knew he was going to lose, & didn't want to waste the money.

Did GGG ever get his stepaside money from Cotto?? I thought I read somewhere that he still owes GGG money??

and that extra 10%, goes to?

          65+45=110 lol

I agre this need to be 65-35...but i can see clearly a 70-30 just for the fight to get done.

but you need to understand that Team GGG has a point..."you dont give me what's fair...and the purse bid is going to give 45....so its vacate or negotiate fair.

"Rumors" usually start from the person who heard them 1st. That would be Loeffler. Just like Saunders $6 million payday he turned down but was really $1.5

I always knew Loeffler was a DIRTBAG... And EVERYONE knows how CHEAP he his! Plus he never NEGOTIATES. And is a FKN LIAR!!!

Did you see earlier how he posted in ggg's Twitter account perfect lawyer talk??? Dude is a scumbag.
It was going around here a few days ago. Someone said Shane Mosely supposedly broke the news but it might be bulls**t because he was also promoting his own fight when he said it.

$7 Mil step aside to let Canelo keep the title and fight two tunes up (Sep 16 & May 17) @160 lbs with a fight w/ GGG in Sep 17. Kind of like the Ward-Kovalev deal. I think they even had a purse split but can't remember what it was.

I think it's dumb too but the rumor was going around….all I was saying is that might be why Loeffler came out and made a media statement. An attempt to squash a dumb rumor if you will

I remember him saying he wasn't going to pay Golovkin, but I think he did. This article says he did, but he drew the line at the sanctioning fee.

Decent card but only if GGG fights Jacobs or another top level opponent. Cannot be another Wade and no Johnson is not acceptable.

Shadow if Canelo isn't fighting GGG,Pacquiao or Rematching Mayweather and Cotto he isn't going to sell more than 300k PPV buys because his opponent won't be a name in boxing that the public will pay for to watch. Canelo's high PPV numbers are because he fought Mayweather and Cotto without those guys his PPV numbers aren't impressive for being the "face of boxing".

Do you think Shadow a PPV fight between Canelo-Rosado will sell more than 300k PPV buys? Mexicans and fight fans aren't going to pay for that crap

Fight will do +$2 million PPV this September with strategic promotion. And that's the key; once signed, this fight will still require HEAVY promotion to generate interest from casuals. I'm no die hard, but I'm no casual either. I can hardly wait to watch this particular fight, but I'm gonna go watch it for free at any Dallas strip club. I wouldn't pay for it otherwise. I know that's anecdotal, but it's still true. If both sides think this is May/pac where both guys can act like monks w zero press tour and still strike gold?, then they're crazy.
Two publicly shy foreigners who don't speak English. From a casuals standpoint, one guy is a star bc he got shutout in front of millions (thanks to a terrific fight promotion, I might add) by Mayweather, and the other guy is being sold as the next mike Tyson.
Point being, they're too busy arguing about who is the B-side when, without a careful promotion, they're both right.

Thanks! I didn't know? I remember him saying the same thing. I just didn't knew if he really went through with it. I'm ok with stiffing the WBC but don't make an agreement with another fighter and then robbed them. Glad he paid!
