What was the reason for the postponement rather than a full out cancelation? Either Povetkin was dirty or he wasn't. If he tested dirty then there's no question that the fight should just have been immediately canceled.

In regards to the testing positive for 70 nano grams. I've heard that such a small amount is within the legal limits and i've heard that it isn't. Anyone have any clarification on this?
The main issue clouding the waters here is the fact that the drug was only put on the banned lists at the beginning of this year. That means that anyone using the drug before that time was not technically cheating under WADA guidelines. Povetkin's team are insisting that the trace amounts found in his positive test are residuum from his prior usage, which may or may not be the case. No one knows enough about the drug to give a firm estimate on how long it takes to be fully clear of a person's system, or what factors might contribute to it remaining in a person's body for longer periods. The doping orgs are aware of this, which is why there are special dispensations in place at the moment, to deal with those athletes still working the drug out of their system.

So no it's not really as simple as either he was dirty or he wasn't. Once the investigation is concluded we'll know for sure what the official stance is.

EDIT: and yeah, I'm aware of my sig. lol

On Wilder's comments on giving up the belt, he's free to do as he pleases. If he truly wishes to put himself in a worse bargaining position in order to stand up for what he feels is right then good on him, wish him all the luck in the world. I suspect this is bluster though. Only a few days ago he was claiming that he'd beat Povetkin with or without drugs. Now he's saying he won't fight him no matter what. Public opinion is on his side at the moment, but he needs to be careful not to send out mixed messages with this stuff. It's making him look somewhat flaky. Pick a stance and stick with it.

If that's the case then I retract my statement. It did look, however, as if both he and his team were looking to pull the plug themselves, going by certain comments they made. For instance this one:

If Povetkin isn't suspended, it would mean some official is lining his pockets with rubles from a promoter.
