Comments Thread For: Mayweather vs. McGregor Chatter a Sign of Pathetic Times

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Will Floyd come back? Will Floyd fight Conor? Will Floyd wake up tattooed from head to toe in a code only Larry Merchant can decipher? (Dammit… I guess NBC already beat me to that one.)
Regardless of the storyline, it’s still all about the Mayweather soap opera. When the 39-year-old indicating an...

They're both just using it as means for publicity.

Nothing more to look into really. How haven't people caught on yet?

Yeah this is just like the Silva/R. Jones talk, never will two top fighters from different disciplines meet unless one side completely commits with serious intent, and I don't think Mayweather will be the one crossing into the UFC and Conor has lots of business to take care of in the UFC. The only example I can think of is Cris Cyborg challenging Jorina Baars at her one thing in Lion Fight.

The article says that Mayweather and McGregor are using each other's names to generate attention for themselves basically. I think both guys are just looking for the biggest possible payout at this point. Conor has always said he just wants to make a lot of money then get out of the game and Floyd has been saying the same thing for years.

I disagree with the article saying that Floyd needs attention. Boxing fans seem to have an obsession with the guy whether they love him or hate him he is still the most talked about prize fighter in all of combat sports. The guy rarely gives interviews, has a cold relationship with the media, and doesn't post much on social media compared to other athletes.

If they want Floyd to stop grabbing headlines all they need to do is stop giving him attention.

If the fight takes place, it should be contested under similar rules as Muhammad Ali-Antonio Inoki.

LOL @ not being for attention. He admitted to starting these rumours himself, meaning he personally leaked the story to the source that initially reported it. And surprise surprise, he did it on the eve of Canelo-Khan.

Nobody cares about Mayweather anymore. He's so irrelevant, so starved for attention that he's having to rely on riding the coattails of some Irish f*g who he wouldn't have even given a second thought about 12 months ago.

Is the sign that Floyd Mayweather has seriously embraced his role as the greatest cherry picker in the whole universe.

                    # a mark of excellence in Cherry picking goes a long way in conning gullible consumers.
