The two situations are way different.

GYM has Beterbiev AND Alvarez under contract. Those fights should be very easy to make.

The equivalent would be K2 having BJS and like Danny Jacobs under contract but not putting them in with Golovkin.

What GYM is trying to do, and it's very obvious, is they're trying to milk Stevenson's reign. He's going to be 39 years old, he's been KOed before, but he's also the biggest name they have. So they're trying to keep him away from Beterbiev or someone like Alvarez for as long as possible until they see noticeable decline in his game. This matchup is further proof.

lol this a typical GYM move. Instead of putting a better fight together with Alvarez and Stevenson. They give two tailor made matchups for their two champions. Dawson shouldn't even be close to fighting for a title, even if it is an interim belt. Thomas Williams is 3 fights away from quitting against Campillo and he has a horrendous defense being rocked and dropped in several fights. He's set up to get viciously KOed here.

It's funny how GYM has Beterbiev, Stevenson and Alvarez but never thinks about putting any of them against one another.

GYM is the promoter, these guys are all advised by AH, they only fight who he tells them to fight.

This is a highly unattractive card. It has been forever since Stevenson fought a relevant opponent and Thomas Williams just continues that trend.

And then we have the ghost of Dawson in a match up with Alvarez, Stevenson's #1 contender. Why isn't Stevenson fighting his #1 contender and Dawson taking on the prospect?

The matchups should be switched.

This is the 4th no hoper in a row for an Al Haymon fighter. The lack of outrage here only shows how irrelevant Stevenson has become, because any relevant Haymon fighter (especially one with an HBO counterpart) would be generating tons of hate threads
