It's all good though, because A-Don is moving onto bigger and better things. Alvarez proved his amazing quality in his emphatic, shutout victory over Kovalev's next opponent. Nothing remotely bogus or dubious about that decision at all.
Alvaez-Chilemba a shutout? R u serious or just joking? Bigger and better things? GTFOH

      Everyone already knew this...

Duva demanded a purse bid, and was granted one, and then she forced Kovolev to withdraw out of fear of not winning the bid, causing kovolev to miss a career high payday

Kathy Duva asked the WBC to make Kovalev the #1 contender to Stevenson, which they did. But then when the mandatory purse bid was ordered she ran from it like a coward.

Let the highest bidder put on the fight...what is wrong with that? It means more money for both fighters.
I think it's for contractual purposes like he said. If Kovs contract was ending then he could negotiate by saying he has a potential fight with a rival company aka leverage. Still not a fan of adonis tho

Oh faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark off! The forum users aren't ****** lol! So the not corrupt president of the WBC says Stevenson not at fault, yawn, we know the truth! Stevenson wanted a purse bid because he knew big Al would put in a ****** bid and try get the fight on Showtime when he KNOWS Kovalev can't fight on any other network than HBO. BS!

I read the same article a week or 2 ago but in french.
Stevenson doesnt want the fight but if al haymont old him to fight him he probably would. Al doesn't want the fight unless he makes way more money from his golden goose. Duva is a bad promoter despite what people here think. I get that kovalev is the good guy but duva is a bad promoter. Kovalev should be bigger than GGG but isnt. Duva seems like she doesnt even want the fight.

Kovalev is the only one that I truley believes out of all these people that wants the fight. He also wants a fight with ward which is a tough fight. Duva and haymon are likely ****ing behind closed doors. Possibly ****

The president of the WBC claiming a champion of his organisation is not responsible for avoiding a fight with another champion from a rival organisation

                Sounds legit

It wasn't out of fear of losing the purse bid, this ***** never intended for Kovalev to fight Stevenson from the get go. She used both Stevenson and the wbc in order to negotiate a new HBO contract for Kovalev, and then ran to the media with that HBO 50/50 split - take it or leave it crap.

It's what she always does, does some slimy and **** and then runs to the media to spread her propaganda first before the other guy tells on her.

She did the same to Wilder in the negotiations for the Wilder-Glazkov fight. Conspired to get Fury stripped and then had her fighter pull out of negotiations for Wilder so he can go and fight for a vacant title instead of fighting a real champion, for the most prestigious and historical belt, and for more money.

Then guess what? After doing all this slimy ****, she was the first to run to the media and spread her bull****.

Not really surprising tho, this is typical female behaviour, always the villain but always playing the victim.

Except Kovalev was a free agent at the time.

Except even if he hadn't been a free agent, that's exactly what purse bids were made for, to sort out the promoter-network issues.

                    You fail with an F-

Except you're very biased and it shows by what you said about Kovalev. If Kovalev really wanted the fight then he would have put pressure on Duva to make the fight, like Stevenson did on Al Haymon and Dibella for the whole of 2015, even went as far as making appearances on Kovalev cards and trying to confront him.

Kovalev only talks about Stevenson when he's not around, and never puts any pressure on Duva to make the fight. Duva on the other hand is being intentionally unreasonable and deceitful.

She claims she tried to negotiate the fight and went out of her way, yet every time she is asked for details, all she says is "50/50 split, HBO, take it or leave it".

You'd have to be an idiot to believe those are the words of someone who tried to negotiate. That aint a negotiation, that's an ultimatum, an intentional unreasonable one too.

Everybody knows that Stevenson can't except such a deal outside of Duva winning a purse bid. He has stake holders like showtimes, pbc-Haymon, and even Dibella who if he accepted such a deal, would cause friction in his relationship with them. Not to mention Stevenson and HBO have a hate relationship to begin with.

Duva knows this however which is why she is running with it, and Kovalev is all too willing to hide under her skirt.
