His next fight isn't in limbo, you know damn good and well who he'll fight next. Somebody unranked and who's name you can't even pronounce. He'll never fight Joshua because he knows Joshua would end his paper title BUM fighting reign.

I'm a fan of neither boxer, but Povetkin shouldn't get away with this without any financial penalty. Wilder should be compensated somehow.

With joshua, tyson and wlad all tied up at the moment, i can see wilder fighting someone like aerreola or the guy that just beat chisora, i think it was ustinov but not certain

the next step will be based on what the next big fight ends up being
If facing Fury-Klitschko II for a December PPV is the near-term aim, the Wilder likely fights Gerald 'El Gallo Negro' Washington (6'6, 240lbs, can kinda punch, etc) come this July/August as the warm-up.

Are we all going to pretend that DiBella and Haymon aren't pleased as peaches with this outcome? There's no way they wanted this fight in the first place, and now they have the perfect excuse to get out of it and set up another Wilder vs. #35 ranked guy type of fight. Of course Povetkin deserves a harsh penalty, and I was rooting for Wilder in the first place, but somehow deep down I knew this fight wouldn't happen.
