Boxing is cyclical. Right now the U.S. is experiencing a temporary downturn while the old stars are retiring and the future stars are still developing.

Its only a matter of time before the next generation comes up. We just have to be patient and wait.

The only serious problem I do see with the American scene is that it's mostly black and Hispanic. It would be nice to have more homegrown white fighters so that certain fans don't feel the need to cheer for foreigners or to abandon boxing for MMA.

you got fury who who out bored a klit in a championship match along with anthony who looks good, or he could just be the next jeff lacy - they both lose to luis ortiz as it stands today.
james degale is absolutely nothing special and IMO is just holding that thing for zurdo. billy joe saunders is comically a champion at 160, a weight that holds two of the best fighters in the sport, another round and Lee would have closed the show on BJS, bet cotto beats him. liam smith - either charlo bro, lara or josesito lopez handle this kid. kell brook - decent champ but gets x'd out by garcia and a lot of others at 147. crolla and flanagan at lightweight lose convincingly to rances or linares, crap even verdejo and lee selby is in a class with loma and LSC, two L's.

money that degale, saunders, smith, selby, brook, flanagan and fury aren't champs by this time next year.

it's hard to come out on top in a gym with blacks and browns. kelly pavlik did it but lost to the bottle and .... jason litzau?

that's no more serious a problem than my potential of not coming home with a bird tonight from the bar. it's nice to see you taking up for the concerns of white american, though.

Obviously US or any other country has that but American boxing isn't doing that partially because as Hearn says that TV pays the purses so arenas are empty. Terence Crawford is a shining example.

Khan should be fighting in NY/NJ/LA/Chicago cuz of his ethnic community. Russians on east coast.

The expat fighters that have truly banked on to this are Poles like Adamek and Fonfara (I always think he is Szef).
I agree but once you get to a certain level opponents demand neutral venues. Look at Devon Alexander in St. Louis. After a couple of disputed decisions no top fighters wanted to go there anymore.

Postol for example refused to fight Crawford in Omaha. He wanted a neutral place.

How much gate are they doing for Matchroom cards? Big shows, small shows, whatever shows?

70% gate/30% TV would seem like either 1)massive gates, 2)tiny TV money or 3)overall less money from TV + gate than the US & maybe or maybe not more profit since its the show that sells more then 1 or 2 names on US shows.

Fighters need to start fighting in their home states to get the local support and start selling out arenas.

                  You guys are oversimplifying.

It's clear the big reason UK boxing is so big is because of the entertainment factor. We need entrances like Hamed, Eubank Sr., Eubank Jr., Benn, etc. back. Broner is the only fighter still doing it and even his isn't close to the UK.

Not rocket science to fight in your hometown.

It doesn't help that the scheduling of the fights seem completely arbitrary at times. Four foreigners fighting in Washington D.C. Madness.

It does come through the t.v. Like Hearn says too. Watching a massive fight watched by 8 people in what looks like a leisure centre looks awful.

                      Good point!

It is just a bit of fun but this needs to happen too.

But Naz dancing around in front of 5 people would be tragic. That's what would probably happen today.
