Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: I'll Fight Russell Anywhere, I Think He's Too Scared!

It doesn't sound like something that Loma would usually say.
I wouldn't be surprised if Klimas said it, he's always saying dumb things that makes his fighters look bad. Having said that, Loma seems to be a little frustrated as of late, so maybe he did say it.
I doubt Russell is scared at all. Russell has basically wanted a rematch since after the first fight and he said the "he has to see me" line before Broner by the way. Some people think Russell copied it from Broner, but Russell has been saying it since at least early last year. Either way neither Broner nor Russell originated the line anyway.
I would like to see Russell and Loma against other opponents before they have a rematch. They're fortunate enough to be in a good Featherweight/Super Featherweight era, so why not see them against other fighters before them facing off again?
There is a lot of good match-ups to be made.
Maybe the thought of a Loma rematch would push Russell. I think Russell has an interesting style and I would like to see him against other top fighters. What if he gets a Loma rematch early and Russell loses that fire. That's just the way I see it, anyway.
Loma has to worry about Martinez first. I do think people exaggerate on how many gifts Martinez has gotten, IMO he has gotten two gifts against Salido in the rematch and against Burgos, but he did get a gift against Burgos in NEW YORK. Loma better be careful. Loma is not this "Golden Boy" like people think he is. At the end of the day, he's fighting a Puerto Rican fighter in New York on the weekend of the Puerto Rican day parade...so yeah he better be careful.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. Russell would lose again but it would be more interesting than seeing Lomachenko beat Rocky Martinez.
And by the way I wonder what is happening with Berchelt's lawsuit? Rocky was supposed to fight him next.

I think Russell is grade A talent, but Loma is just better..After he destroys Martinez, I wouldn't mind a rematch with Russell or Sal-cheato, but for me the super fight would've been againt Rigo...

I would like to see a rematch both are quality fighters and GRJ just stay too stationary while Loma manipulated his d. That is fixable in camp and I think it would be good to see plan B, C and so on between the two. Loma wasn't particularly stronger, faster just seemed to have a better game plan with less defensive openings.
That being said, 126 and 130 are ripe for the taking for Loma but his buzz is diminishing.

Russell seem to be carrying more power than he did when he fought Lomachenko. He wasn't able to hurt Lomachenko at all and he was outboxed. Maybe if he can hurt him it might make a difference. Either way, I don't think Russell is scared to have a rematch and for that reason I wouldn't mind seeing it.

I'd like to see both fighters move on a do some nice things in Boxing. I don't see anyone else being able to handle Russell's speed and power. If his hands stay healthy, he can beat a lot of top fighters. If he is injured, I hope it is not during a fight. He is one of my top 5 favorite fighters. When he puts his speed and power on display, he is like greased lightning. Lom and his footwork are amazing. Lets see these guys wipe out the division(s).
