And after talking a ton of shit about how Roach was the wrong guy for Jr, and how he was the right guy, Robert's trying to safe face. 'Oh I got a nice big check', 'it's not that I can't train him', 'it's personal issues', 'Roach still isn't the right trainer for him'. Yeah whatever you're having yourself mate. You can spot an ego that bruised a mile away.
Ding ding ding! That sir is the correct answer. Jr is jerk. Truth is you can't take a turd and put it in a fancy box. But when you open it, guess what's inside?! That's chavez's career.

Agree 100% what the fu ck was the point of saying he has personal issues that he wont say? He could of just played it cool and said hes lazy. It bugs him more that he left him for roach

Did you see the HBO 24/7 for his fight with Martinez? Did you see how he reacted when his father would try to give him advice?

Sr in a totally different class. He had heart; something Jr doesn't have. Freddie can't train that; Jr lacks self discipline.

It's hard being the son of a legend.

I hope Al Santa Cruz never boxes.

Back in culiacan I used to train in a gym where most people thought a dude was lazy and didn't always show up but he was actually just in with the "wrong" crowd if you will and he'd sometimes not be able to train at the gym for safety reasons. I'd not see him for weeks or months and even though he was just a basic local type talent I never gave him sh it for it since he's a guy I got to know over years of training with from a young age (me being the young one at that time) and had a general idea of what he was going through. Some people have a lot on their plate and it could be anything from substance abuse issues, money (cant train full time cuz you have to feed your siblings and need to go work at your jobs for example), enemies or any myriad of personal issues.

With Jr it wouldn't surprise me if he had a substance abuse problem or lives a hectic life and it clearly interferes with his profession. He still wants to fight so whatever it is I wish him the best. It seems like more than just money to him and even if he doesnt take it as serious as we'd like, he still puts it on the line in the ring and he's from sinaloa so I'll always support dude. Plus I find him hilarious and he didnt let Arum stick it to him. Cant be all bad.

Next thing you'll know is that JCC jr will be running back to Bob Arum

"Uncle Bob! Everyone's being mean to me!"
"Don't worry Little Chavez, I'll let you fight in Texas where I can bend the rules to favor you, plus I'll get you a title fight. I mean, your name is Chavez right? Just dump Al Haymon and I'll do all this for you."
