And I mean is it really in his system for 5 months & change? That seems like a really long time to have been in his system. I'd assume based on how much he tested for with this supplement they can guessimate the last usage, but idk that to be a fact I just know its something they can do with other products.
Hopefully there's some way they can tell how long ago he took it based on the amount detected.

If he just took it yesterday then screw him, he's cheating or too dumb to stay up to date with the rules.

But if its some trace amount of a fairly mild drug they just banned, it would be a real pity to cancel the fight.

Who makes the final decision? Can Wilder just understand the situation and say he doesn't care? Or is the whole thing auto-***ed?

        • It increases blood flow, which improves exercise capacity in athletes.
        • Wada found “evidence of its use by athletes with the intention of enhancing performance” by virtue of carrying more oxygen to muscle tissue.

He cannot claim ignorance on this one. Meldonium is now very well known as banned and has been for months, with Athletes getting banned etc. It has been all over the news.

Meldonium apparently makes you not get as tired when training from what ive read. I could be wrong though. Looks like povetkin was using it basically to not gas in fights and train harder and longer. Shameless roider

It was banned since January 2016 -- WADA only announced meldonium would appear on the 2016 banned list in fall 2015. But Sharapova said she knew the drug only as mildronate, not meldonium... a.s.o.
