why would I praise him for beating someone who has done nothing in the pros? Beterbiev would get thoroughly outclassed. Ward was a better amatuer, is a better pro and is flat out more talented

Stevenson is getting old, I feel like Al is gonna throw Beterbiev with him.. so he has a new champion.

GYM (their promoter) has stated he has no intention of matching up Stevenson & Beterbiev. I think Haymon has a lot of power in boxing right now, but I doubt he can influence these two too fight if their promoter doesn't wanna let that happen.

Just a guy knocking out who he is supposed to. I know he had an extensive amatuer background but I dont put much into that. TOO many olympic successes were not great pros and others with little amatuer success have become ATG

I see a guy with power, an exciting style, he seems physically strong but not much else

He doesnt establish a jab, he throws looping shots and overhands, and he lacks head movement.

Frankly, the way that he simply obliterated Gabriel Campillo, a former titlist who was supposed to provide some kind of test, perked my ears up.

He's seemingly got power in both hands, fights very well from his punching range, and can fight.

Before Andre Ward moved into the weight class, Beterbiev's set of tools (even now, without the experience as a pro) makes him a live fighter against any 175lb fighter throwing hands.

Skill for skill, you can't really say that Kovalev's tool set is world's better than Beterbiev's tool set, which is why folks rate him.

He's a good style matchup for ward if he improves. Messy but strong and mauls on the inside. Would be cool to see if ward can box him on the outside for 12 because it'd be difficult to tie up that dude.
