$7.4 mill at the gate + 600K PPV (70bucks)... $42million = 47million
Madison Sq. sales Lemieux / GGG = ? + 96k PPV (50bucks)... $4.8 million = total?

Hopefully it shows Golden Boy that they need to make the GGG fight.
Based on the live gate figure the avg price sold was well over 600 bucks. The live gate for this fight is over 3x GGG career high live gate, hell his last fight with wade they gave away 2 for 1 tickets at 25 bucks. If canelo wanted to give away cheap tickets outside of Vegas just to get the highest attendance he can do that and fill baseball stadiums see his Kirkland fight fight which had over 30k in attendance and live gate of 3.4m. But he more then doubled that live gate with "only 13k" sold tickets and just landed on the list among the highest gates in Vegas history. There is a reason big boys fight in Vegas and little boys fight outside Vegas giving away 2 for 1 tickets at $25. GGG would need about 7 fights with Wade to reach the live gate Canelo/khan fight did in 1 night.Last edited by bigdunny1; 05-13-2016, 07:44 AM.

Does anyone know because I still don't fully get the brake down was the Pac event a success or a failure? I figured it was a success because Top Rank is getting another Pay Per View shot in July.
As far as TR's next ppv shot, that was the only way they could afford to pay both fighters with HBO's dwindling budget. If it was up to HBO every fight would probably be ppv because it brings in outside revenue and eases up on the budget. They probably had a guarantee with Pac and Bradley so they had to put that unnecessary fight together.

Laughing at idiots trying to act like this ain't big money at the gate. Historically there are only about 5 or so people all time who could generate 7.4 mil live gate in Vegas history. And today other then canelo ONLY Floyd can do it. Mannys last fight did only 6.4m in live gate.

It's why I shake my heads when people say Floyd should fight in a football stadium. Why? He can easily sell out a 60k stadium in any city in the US hell Canelo has twice basically sold out baseball stadiums with 30-40k in attendance. But you make more money fighting in small arenas in Vegas. The smaller number of tickets make it more exclusive so you can jack up the prices. And it's Vegas which draws the high rollers to the casinos. Some people just don't get it saying it only sold 13k tickets, yes at over 600 bucks a pop. That's like telling Armani why aren't you selling as many shirts as the cheap department store shirts. If Armani just wanted to increase number of sales they should drop their prices. But that ruins the brand and they are literally selling shirts that are 10-20X the price of the cheap department store making huge money because of it.

45% of $63= $28.35 x 460,000= $13,041,000 + $7,400,000= $20,441,000
Khan $13 mil + Canelo $20 mil = $33 mil
$70 PPV with 50% going to the cable/satellite companies = $45
$45 with 7.5% going to HBO leaves GBP with $33.75 x 460k = $15.5mil
$15.5mil + $7.4 mil gate = $23 mil
Khan $13 mil + Canelo $20 mil = $33 mil
The second model I used is more favorable to GBP but I still don't see where all the extra money is coming from. They would have to make up $10-$13 mil in Mexico/UK rights fees, sponsorships, closed circuit, etc to break even on the purses. To put that in perspective May-Pac had $13 mil in sponsorships and $35 mil in foreign rights fees. In Mexico, TV Azteca and Televisa both bought the rights fees for $2.3 mil total.
I don't think Golden Boy lost money on the fight but I think the reported take home pay for both fighters have been inflated. I think it's closer to $12-$15 mil total take home combined.
