460k is not great numbers considering oscars boast about canelo being the star of world boxing , and if you say that u have to back it up with numbers and that's clearly not the case and puts even more pressure on them to make the golovkin fight because there's no more marinating to be done now......golovkin won't go big stateside if he don't get a big name next and canelo will lose serious numbers on his next fight if he vacates his title to avoid triple GGG and a lot fans will desert him for his actions .....so it looks like it's all come.to a head at the right time.....the age of 1 mil ppv buys are well and truly gone and it looks like the honey pot has truly run out of honey

This is bad news for Canelo because if he can't fight GGG or Mayweather, any other opponent is likely going to produce even smaller numbers than these. Fights with Curtis Stevens and Lemieux will do way less than 460K.

So the pressure is now mounting on the so called 'Ca$hnelo' to face Golovkin.
Canelo has a reputation for fighting smaller guys, so in order to change the public's perception, he needs to take on some stronger opponents at 160. Not necessarily GGG, but definitely not any jr. Welters and Welterweights. If he fought Lemieux and Stevens prior to GGG, that would better prepare him to fight a middleweight and the money would be bigger when he finally fights GGG. But the face of boxing, who happens to be Mexican, fighting on Cinco De Mayo weekend against a named opponent and does not get anywhere near 1 million buys, regardless of what source of numbers you choose, it just doesn't look good. The public, including myself spoke volumns in my boy Floyd's last fight, they spoke volumns in PAC vs Bradley 3 and they spoke again in Canelo vs Khan (I watched at the movies). Soon, opponents won't be able to get nowhere near 13 million dollar paydays against Canelo as the b-side.

It's so funny how Floyd's and Pacquiao LAST fight is being used as the measuring stick. Canelo last two fights may have outsold their last fights but why are you comparing 2 fights to one. Canelo couldn't even break a million with one of the biggest draws in boxing history and it was a Mexican PR rivalry fight.

More Mexicans ordered Cotto /Mayweather than they did Cotto /Canelo and it was a much better fight. The Mexicans have spoken they supported Floyd way more than they do Fraudnelo..

I'm just saying if a fight with Khan does 460K.. a fight with Lemieux or Curtis Stevens, or whoever GBP has as a back up plan, is going to generate even less numbers than 460K. You're probably looking at around 350K for those guys and possibly less. Khan at least has a bigger name then those guys, despite being physically overmatched.

Oscar made a mistake when they said it sold 600k. He was looking at the Canelo-Cotto spreadsheet

As it stands, Canelo has done 2.2 mil as the b side against Floyd in a losing effort. 300,000 against as the A side against Angulo. 900,000 as the b side in a win against Cotto and only 390,000 to 600,000 against khan on cinco de mayo??? Where were all the buys that were supposed to generated by the huge Mexican fan base??? Gtfoh
