This will be the first PPV that I will purchase this year. They made a fight that I want to see so I am going to reward them. This is the best fight of 2016 so far.

I am going to purchase it but $49.99 HD is too much IMO. But I guess Arum knows only diehards will buy it.

Best part was reading that arum expects HBO to increase the budget for boxing next year.

Sounded more like he was talking about that Crawford shouldn't be in this position next year than HBO's boxing budget is increasing to me, but mainly it didn't seem 100% clear that he meant the HBO budget will increase. He coulda been implying a lot of things besides the budget is getting increased. Maybe some guys are getting dropped. I think they will need to clean house a lil or have 4-5 PPV's a year minimum if they don't up the budget.

That said it'd be nice if HBO quit dropping the HBO boxing budget so I'm rooting for your take to be the right take. The budget has been dropping for 2 decades give or take & seemingly can't go down much further.

I think Arum had to be told something to keep him with HBO. If HBO doesn't increase the budget that really sucks. I don't want to have to pay $49.99 for fights like Postol/Crawford or Loma/Walters that should be headlining a BAD or WCB card.

HBO has the money. The just don't care about boxing anymore.

Time Warner's Q1 income up 25% on CNN, HBO gains

Revenue at HBO, the company's premium cable network, increased 8% to $1.5 billion as higher domestic rates and subscribers fueled growth in subscription and content revenues. Programming costs increased 11%. "The sixth season premiere of Game of Thrones grew its opening night viewership double digits compared to
                  a year ago," it said.

May the best man win, and may both men be seriously richer for future fights.
I agree and hope Crawford and Postol make a mint. But this being on PPV sets a bad precedent. This is not a PPV level fight. If they were streaming this on Top Rank TV and wanted to charge $20-$30 I would buy it. But I'm not about to spend $50 on this PPV on top of my monthly subscription to HBO. This is a fight that should be offered by HBO as part of my monthly subscription.

It's a fight between the top guys in their weight class. I'll be buying the PPV.

If we as boxing fans claim that we want the best to fight the best then we should support the promoters when they actually do it.

This is a much better fight than GGG-Lemieux. TC, like GGG, is pretty much a consenesus P4P guy. The difference is his opponent is a young, undefeated fighter that recently beat what many people consider a top guy. Lemieux on the other had is an established bum that's already been beaten by C level competition. We have a ceiling on him. We know he ain't ****. We don't know how good Postol is, so there's intrigue.

Of course, TC doesn't have a legion of fanatical, delusional ret@rds that will buy any and every garbage fight he puts on like GGG does. But this is a fight fan's fight. So while I don't think it cracks 200K buys. I do think it can compete with the number GGG put out in his PPV debut.
