Ortiz and Ustinov Agree to Fight in Aug. or Sept.

Purse bid is off, and a deal is in place for a date to be determined. The fight will be on HBO, in either August or September. Can't wait!

      Lol That's my source.

I haven't seen Ustinov fight. Big boy (6'7 1/2") with a good record. It'll be interesting to see Luis fight a guy that tall, and it's a step closer to a showdown with the winner of Fury-Klitschko II.

You're probably right. Golden Boy wanted this fight for the Canelo-Khan undercard. It would make a nice addition to a great main event. Must buy PPV right there.

Ustinov is decent, good jab but when the going get's tough and he doesn't have it all his own way he quit's.
Fairly easy fight for Ortiz, be interesting to see how he fair's in the later rounds...

Of course they find the only fringe contender who's older than Ortiz to fight next. Ustinov is a former kickboxer who's just parlaying his craft into his later years in boxing without needing to worry about getting kicked in the head.

Ortiz is as unknown a talent as Joshua to me. So far the 3 notable people he's fought or are about to fight, in this case, are a HW with no power & two guys older than him. Its like maybe they know something about him & are just trying to get this 37 year old to a position to cash out.

This will be tougher than Ortiz's last fight. Ustinov is better than the current version of Tony Thompson. I'm interested to see how Ortiz does against someone of Ustinov's size, he is legitimately enormous. Ortiz looks like the real deal and his destruction of Jennings was really impressive. If he can blast out Ustinov with ease I'll be impressed.
