Is Floyd (and CBS Sports execs) waiting for GBP and K2, HBO finalization?

This is network wars my brothers. Can TMT 50 knock off the whole HBO circuit?

No. TBE too greedy. He impoverishes any network. No profit in TBE.

I don't think TMT can knock off Canelo and GB. Floyd himself is not a draw.

If Floyd/CBS are waiting to see if 9/17/16 is gonna be Canelo-Golovkin PPV on HBO or whether the date is available for "poaching", hasn't Floyd already lost the battle?

The only fight he could make to steal that date back would be with Manny Pacquiao, who will be doing his Senatorial gig by that point and thus unavailable.

Floyd is retired and when you retire, your influence in the sport dwindles. That's just how it is.

The only fight that eclipses Canelo-GGG is May-Pac II and that ain't happening.

Canelo is the boss in boxing now, for better or for worse. Floyd was a great champion but he's history now. Some people need to come to grips with this.

How many viewers do you think Floyd-Garcia gets on CBS vs Golovkin-Canelo on PPV buys the same day? And who would MGM rather have at their T-Mobile arena?

Floyd-Garcia has 120-108 written all over it. Garcia would get schooled by a 60 year-old Floyd. That is a piece of garbage fight and anyone who knows a thing at all about boxing knows that.

Plus, the September date is a Mexican holiday. Which fight is going to bring the Mexicans and Mexican-Americans into town to throw their money down on the ******** tables? The superfight with the Mexican guy actually fighting in it--not the Black guy vs. a Puerto Rican who's there to get his culo totally kicked.

If it were Puerto Rican Day parade Eve in NYC, maybe. But not in Vegas on a Mexican holiday in the biggest fight of Canelo's career.

Obviously if Floyd fights on CBS (free TV) he'll get more views than a PPV fight but who cares? We're talking about which fight spins the money and who gets the date.

Nothing except May-Pac II displaces a Canelo-GGG fight from the September date. Period. It's not even a debate ... it's not even close

I think Floyd is done with the Mexican holidays. He did Andre Berto on Mexican Independence weekend which was a bad business move.

Also, aren't we supposed to be boxing fans? Who the hell would root for Floyd disrupting a Canelo-Golovkin fight????

Yup. People who think Mayweather is ever going to fight outside of PPV are crazy as shit.

What exactly would fans expect from a Mayweather/Garcia fight? Who's going to play aggressor? Certainly not Floyd. Garcia's best moments were the times when he's being bullied. His worst is when he's the one chasing his opponent. He couldn't catch Peterson. He even got murked when Peterson decided to stand in front of him.

Point is, Mayweather's fights sell when there's a strong perception that the opponent is strong enough to beat the best eva to a pulp. Fans want to see him lose. This is non existent in a Garcia fight.

I'll be surprised if it gets 50K PPV.
