I thought Canelo showed he had good skills as a boxer in this fight considering Khan was the quicker man. And yes he 'timed' Khan very nicely for the KO.

I noticed Khan started standing in front of Canelo for longer in the 6th. That's when he started to get hit hard. Every other round before that he was in and out. Most of the time Canelo could only find his body up to that point and was missing wildly with big swings. I have no idea why Khan did this? It seemed to be intentional rather than he was tiring.
Ever heard the saying "judges favor clean, effective punches"? This is why we end up with so many debatable decisions. Some of it is perspective. People who favor boxers who move and look to score/steal rounds will give close rounds to those guys. But those who prefer punchers will favor the guy inflicting more pain. But there's also more to it. It's one thing when you're clearly outlanding the opponent like Khan did in rounds 1 & 2 (more so because Canelo hadn't figured him out yet), but the 3rd probably came down to a couple punches. So it's harder not to favor the guy pushing his opponent back with every shot he throws. In an amateur scoring system where only points matter, yes Khan won it, but with clean effective shots Canelo just barely took it in my opinion. You could just sense after that round that he had stolen the momentum, and look at what happened from round 4 on.

If Khan is glad he got knocked out, I bet he is equally happy after a lot of his fights.

Well getting KO like that can be better than getting beat up like Pac did to Margarito.

Even if you had Khan ahead in the fight it was obvious Alvarez was closing the distance with each round. By the 4th round Canelo was landing more and his punches were moving Khan.
If Alvarez had been offered an additional million dollars for knocking out Khan in the 1st round, he could have done it no problem.
Amir was finally able to talk himself into a big fight, but words can only get you so far when you have poor defense and a weak chin. If he's happy getting getting ko'd, I see a happy future for him.

Khan was up 4-1 IMO. I gotta agree with him on this.
