The knock out khan suffered last night changes a fighter permanently and I doubt he'll be able to beat any of those guys now. Before this KO I would have gave khan a great chance at beating Garcia and a good shot at beating spence and brook. But now after this devastating KO all those chances are out the window.

Sadly even Boxingscene's own live scoring had Khan sweeping the first rounds 4-0. Everyone was on that Kool-Aid yesterday. It was actually awkward saying Canelo won rounds 3-6 among the members here.
That's because Khan's punches were so fast it looked like he was doing damage when he wasn't.

I had scored it 3-2 Canelo by the end of Round 5. I gave Khan rounds 1 and 2 only because he literally was ring general despite Canelo's acts. Round 3 onward, Canelo started hunting the body and closing distance. Then Khan got "Kirkland'd".

Whenever the overwhelmingly favorite fighter doesn't quite live up to expectations people will think he looks bad. Stylistically it's not too hard to understand that Khan could be a problem for Canelo early in the fight but knowing Khan's history and fragile nature makes some people wonder why Canelo couldn't walk right through him in the first round. What were the odds in this fight? 50 to 1 in favour of Canelo? I don't think anyone here truly believed Khan was going to win. Most thought that he would be knocked out ...and probably in devastating fashion. The biggest surprise is that Khan did as well as he did.

Personally, I thought Khan did as well as people expected. You are right, no one thought Khan was going to win, most people thought Canelo would win by KO, but also most people thought Khan would look nice in the beginning.

From round 3 on Alvarez was totally in control. Even in those first couple of rounds he seemed like he was content to let Khan blow his load. There was never any point where I thought Khan was in control.

So many of his punches were missing and people were wowing over them.
