Alvarez Did Better Than I Thought....

I tend to be hard on the fighter I'm rooting for when watching live.

Upon a rewatch I noticed all the punches Amir was missing. In the heat of the moment his fast flurries look like they land.

But Alvarez was outlanding him in effective punches starting in rd 1.

I don't think Amir will be some force at 147. He had his moments last night because Alvarez is a slow starter. Even in the rounds Amir won Alvarez was highly competitive.

He struggles against fighters with good counters and had it hard with Algieri. That isn't a fighter an elite is supposed to go 8-4 against.

Garcia would beat Amir again. Kell Brook schools him. manny beats him. Spence breaks him down.

Whenever a heavy underdog does better than expected people will exaggerate his performance.

I missed the fight live but luckily I had if TiVoed to watch and just watched it this morning

I was following the round by round on here on the thread and Fu ck by what everyone was saying i was expecting to see Canelo getting his add kicked and outboxed ala Mayweather up until the knock out. I got to say when it comes to doing round by rounds NSB needs a legit guy doing it. Mfers on here don't know **** when it comes scoring a fight.

I had khan edging out the first two rounds, Canelo the third, khan the forth and Canelo the fifth. That's 3-2 khan but not even close to the utter outboxing people were saying was happening on here. Saying Canelo is overrated and garbage. I was expecting to see a masterclass in the first five rounds by khan from what people were saying on NSB.

Even though I had khan up 3-2 going into the sixth he was starting to fade from what I saw. If he had got clipped, he was on his way to losing the sixth and evening to the fight at the halfway mark.

I give khan huge credit for stepping up and showing his balls. I always lines khan and respected his ability to always take on everyone.

Last night he just stepped up to much. As for the people on NSB who were saying khan was schooling Canelo, well I don't know what you had in for system to believe that. I saw khan missing plenty in there while Canelo was stalking and pressuring him.

I just hope this didn't ruin khan. We all know what happened hatton post pacquiao. I hope khan doesn't suffer the same fate because a knockout like that changes your career. Khan needs to take s Mayweather style break from the game for a while and heal up.

exactly Alvarez was inching up on him second by second

He patiently broke Amir down with bodyshots and used it as the lure to KO Amir

Amir was already eating headshot counter as early as rd 1

Cut the ring off better but Khan Speed is not from the Waist Down, it is from the Waist Up. All his speed is in his hands but he doesn't move his head, he doesn't react to punches coming at him well he kind just tries to skip backwards to avoid punches he doesn't move his head AT ALL.

Also Khan has 2-3 Punches. He doesn't do anything different so yes timing him is so EASY and most have him figured out by the 5th or 6th round. Angel Garcia is 100% Right "1, 2 Roll Out" that is all he does over and over and over

I heard someone say Khan has super fast hands but he's like a guy who just mashes buttons in a fighting game so you have all these fast attacks coming at you but there is literally no logic or thinking behind it so once you get passed the button mashing it's game over lol

              I agree 100%.

Sadly even Boxingscene's own live scoring had Khan sweeping the first rounds 4-0. Everyone was on that Kool-Aid yesterday. It was actually awkward saying Canelo won rounds 3-6 among the members here.

The most interesting thing about Amir is how people misinterpret his handspeed as skills

Many fans view him as some sort of master outfightetr

I had it 3-2 Canelo, but it was pretty close although you could tell Canelo was taking over. Canelo adjusted and after that the KO was inevitable. He was out boxing Khan by the 5th and had him timed and you could see that Khan knew it too.

And the KO was in an amateur mistake by Khan, walking in with a looping lead left hook will get you KOed against a lot of guys.
