BUT... I want GGG to fight Canelo so bad, this is the fight he needs to truly get the recognition he deserves, and finally a "signature win,"
AND I feel that GGG batters Canelo from rope to rope no matter what weight they fight at, even at 155.... That I say **** it and just hope this happens no matter what. If the absolute ONLY WAY it happens from Canelo's perspective is at 155- then i hope GGG just takes it.Comment

Personally- for the integrity of boxing's sake, I feel this fight has to happen at 160 and it is absolute disrespect to the sport to have this MW MEGA fight at a catch weight. Complete BS.

See, I don't have the same righteous indignation when it comes to this situation. If GGG had moved up in weight and come back down in search of a challenge, like Antonio Margarito had to when he was being avoided, maybe I'd understand. But when GGG talks about moving up it's for big money fights or all of a sudden he needs a catchweight when it's someone highly formidable. So I'm not buying. If he wants a big fight, he'll have to make concessions like everyone else on the B-side. Sure, I'd love to see this happen at 160. But it shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Not at all.Comment

Come on bro, it's boxing, get a grip. Whitaker-Chavez was at a catchweight. Hell, even GGG wanted one to fight Ward. Now it's about the sanctity of the sport just because a trinket is on the line?

Two completely different situations, IMO.Comment

Canelo basically told triple G to stop being a b itch and fight. Title or not.
And it's true in the sense that we will likely NOT see the sport's biggest star make concessions for someone with no marquee names like GGG. It sounds like Canelo doesn't care about the belt and is telling Golovkin he doesn't need him, but to come see him regardless as a man. 155 IS irritating in that he holds the belt but he did it for Floyd no questions asked. There comes a time when Golovkin is going to have to put his money where his mouth is. Everyone is going go watch Canelo, title or not. Hell, Canelo will likely vacate but still try to make the fight. If there is no title on the line, people can't really hate. Canelo doesnt seem to have an issue making weight at all... He's 25. Good luck out lasting him in the wait game...
Edit:
And King, Ward has technically fought at 160...and mentioned going down for Floyd. GGG isnt the only one to blame in that scenario.
However....GGG needs to get in the ring with canelo. Title or not and stop hiding behind it. Canelo will drop a title out of principle. He's already in the books as the lineal wbc mw champ and he defended it... It no longer matters as he already owns the accomplishment and GGG needs to learn what he brings to the table and unfortunately it's nothing. Bro there's a big difference in moving up 8 pounds to a division you've never fought in to fight a P4P king(Ward), as an average sized fighter in the division 8lbs below that...... and wanting a catchweight for that fight:

He wanted a catchweight for a tough opponent, just like Canelo does for him. No difference. All this **** about unifying. If GGG would rather fight yet another chump for a vacant belt rather than make concessions that fighters far greater than him had to in order to make a big fight, then he and his team are ****ing lames and I don't wanna hear any whining.
Golovkin wants a catchweight for a tough opponent in the next division.... Canelo wants a catchweight for an opponent in his own division.
Once again, HUGE difference bro. Lol.
GGG has never moved up to 168, so he has no obligation to fight Ward at Wards weight. Canelo is a 160lb title holder, his best fight is the other 160lb title holder.... Furthermore, GGG is Canelo's mandatory in said division- so Canelo kind of DOES have an obligation, or incentive to face Golovkin.Comment
