I think the size advantage played a role in how quickly Canelo was able to breakdown and dispose of Khan once he adjusted to Khan's speed and started landing counters. And of course, the body work was enhanced by thr size advantage. That said, if these guys are the same size, the fight plays out very similarly, it probably goes a few more rounds though.I had it 3-2 Khan with Canelo winning 4 and 5. He wasn't doing that much those rounds he did land some body shots but not many. He was the bigger man so even though he didn't land that many it looked it was enough to slow Khan down since he didn't move as well since. Round 6 was all Canelo he started to land more often.Comment

Canelo was always the significantly better fighter p4p. Khan could have weighed 300 pounds but Canelo would have still nuked him because he'd always have been able to time that right. As said earlier, he had been timing it all night as it is, but to the body.Comment

The body work is what did it. I told my buddy around the 3rd or 4th that I noticed Khan was dropping his right hand everytime Canelo would feint with the hook. I thought the finish would come from a left hook. Because Khan was clearly trying to protect his body every time Canelo let his hands go.I'd green you if I could (gotta spread some rep), but I said pretty much the same thing earlier in this thread. Alvarez was breaking him down with his sustained body attack, and he was cutting the ring off very well while keeping the jab in Khan's face. If you thought Khan was winning, you were ignoring Alvarez entirely. Those body punches had Khan on his bike starting from about the middle of the 3rd round.
I personally thought Khan won 1 and 2, with 3 being a tossup, and Alvarez taking over for the rest of the fight (3-2 Alvarez on my card).Comment

Khan did well to last as long as he did. He didn't deserve a title shot and he shouldn't have taken the fight in any circumstance. Both boxed well but the size difference was too much. Golovkin has to be next and I think it will be a good fight.Comment

I thought Khan actually failed in the 3rd-6th rounds because he started fighting like Lara did in the Canelo fight. Running ineffectively, just trying to stay away.
Canelo outlanded Lara in power punches in 10 of 12 rounds. Lara was excellent with jabs, outlanding Canelo in jabs in 11 of 12 rounds. It depends whether you like power punching or jabs.Comment
