Wade was ranked#3 by IBF. Johnson was 1, 2 was vacant, and Wade was 3. After talks with Saunders fell through, IBF ordered Johnson to fight GGG in January. His shoulder was 8injured and Johnson unable to fight. At that time, IBF ordered Gokovkin v Wade. Not sure what any of this has to do with the WBC, the WBC Middleweight champion, and the mandatory challenger for the WBC middleweight belt

He knows he's a B sider, but A side privileges don't extend to weight when you're a champ facing the mando, esp lineal champ, esp maximal CWs. Ward has nothing to do with this, he can't handle GGG at MW or even 164, he needs the full 10lb+ weight advantage to compete with him

As far as Wade goes, I agree with you. He was not the top IBF ranked MW and really shouldn't have been thrown in with a shark. But my beef about that would be with the IBF for ordering the fight, not Golovkin for fighting his mandatory.

One thing Im confused on is the comparison of Canelo with Ward. For a minute, we'll forget that GGG is Canelo mandatory and just focus on the whole "A side-B side" thing. You say Golovkin should accept his B sidedness and drop 5 lbs. However, you dont seem to think that Ward, who is certainly the B side to Golovkin, should have to lose 4 lbs and accept his B sidedness.

Are you arguing that Ward is the A side? Golovkin had just sold out the Forum in LA and had 1.5M views on premium cable against Monroe. Ward, meanwhile, sold less than half the tickets, while giving many away, and had a poor 0.35M on basic cable T.V. Using your logic, Ward should have accepted his B sidedness, and dropped 4 lbs for Gennady.

Me personally, I could care less about A side B side, who makes the biggest purse (girls carry a purse...) or any of that other "business" talk about boxing. I only care about the combat in the combat sport, and seeing the best fight the best.

Damn Ward's best win is a cherrypick for GGG, despite Froch's weight and home turf advantage. Maybe GGG is just that good, but if he's gonna be conceding a full division, the other guy better bring something, like 80k at Wembley, or some Mexican fanbase to sell PPv to, not 300k viewers on BET, 50/50 demands, and need for tuneups.

154 for Floyd is more than fair, Floyd was a long time SWW champ who embarrassed Canelo, but is too small to go up so GGG is willing to make the huge concession.
