Very cool. The smaller scale will help to keep everyone relevant and no one will get lost in the system and avoid testing for years or be tested something like once per year.
I wonder if we'll see fighters ducking WBC belts now.Comment

You don't get why its important to have everyone fighting for & in contention for their belt tested 24/7/365?
I mean if you are only testing champions all you are doing is stripping belts ultimately. Thats not doing much to clean the sport up.
And obviously it'd be better to test everyone everywhere, but idk that that would ever be feasible. Testing all of the elite is clearly doable doe. The UFC has been doing this for 550+ fighters for almost a year & got fighters all over the globe just like boxing does.Comment

I don't get how the WBC will do this , the UFC is one belt , somebody like George Groves can just be like no thank you am fighting the WBO champion thanks but no thanks...You don't get why its important to have everyone fighting for & in contention for their belt tested 24/7/365?

Great news. Floyd Mayweather's legacy will live on as the pioneer of Olympic Style drug testing in boxing.Comment

Then he'll be dropped from the rankings. When fighters start dropping from the rankings without fighting we'll know why.Comment

I'd assume anyone who doesn't wanna be tested will just lose their ranking. No harm no foul. I'd assume even Groves, or anyone in his position, would be open to being tested until he won another alphabet group titles doe.
And randomly I couldn't be more anti-4 belts, but in this case it'd probably be helpful if everyone did jump on board as there is usually a solid base of 8+ guys in divisions that are ranked by all the groups thus if everyone was on board they could split the costs of this testing up among themselves.Comment
