But, that is what happens when you fight a qualified opponent.
Canelo expected that, he took that fight because fans were saying that Lara could beat him.
The only other option would be for Canelo to make weak excuses..... not a draw doe, boring doe, needs to earn his shot, yadda yadda.Comment

I've probably had more fights than you've watched.
So, Canelo is a b1tch for fighting at canelo-weight, just like Pacquiao is a b1tch for fighting at manny-weight..... right ?Comment

This guy should stop posting. You want a link when Lara called out your idol Floyd? "Lara don't bring no money to the table doe." It's hilarious when it's thrown back at these clowns' faces.
Lara: I Want Floyd Mayweather For My Next Fight!
Well done for somehow comparing Mayweather to Golovkin LMAOComment

Huh? That makes no sense. You didn't want Lara for Mayweather? That was a fantasy fight for hardcore fans. Look at you clowns' excuses when it was presented. Lara ain't draw doe. Haha. As if they're Ellerbe's financial managers. And unlike others, Floyd is already a millionaire. He can afford to take such fight just like the Berto fight, haha. Fake fans.Comment

Team Lara! Dude is a HOG! I truly believe Canelo will give Lara a rematch before he fights GGG. He's running out of options.Comment

WOW! I feel you! But just like I criticize GGG for fighting Wade, I look at who Lara is fighting next. I don't think calling out GGG is a good look at this point. Vanes??? Why not Quillen or BJ Saundrs now?Because Jacobs and Lara are seemingly on parallel tracks at the moment (Lara, well on his way as establishing himself as the best 154 fighter on the planet, and Jacobs just emerging as a top 3 middleweight in his own right).
If Jermell(WBC 154) and Jermall(IBF 154) win their fights, and Lara(WBA super 154) wins his fight, the Plex Gym camp would be home to 3 of the 4 154 titlist at the weight; Lara still has potential fights with Andrade, JRock, and Soro before the options narrow down to guys in his own camp (Erickson Lubin likely hangs around as the next major threat for a bit).
Daniel Jacobs is basically on the cusp of fighting Golovkin next (timing on things being different now; now with 30 days after the fight instead of 15 days, Canelo can stall the vacate decision to early June, with the WBA making Jacobs their mandatory challenger by mid-June at the latest, pushing the purse bid off until early July, for a fight that would then be staged for September, if Golovkin was really serious about that "I want all of the middleweight belts" nonsense). Beyond that, if Golovkin does vacate the belt (as I'm starting to expect), Jacobs is settling into his home at Barclays Center, with a decent list of middleweight fights to work through; Quillin/Mora rematches, Andy Lee, Avtandil Khurtsidze(guy who throttled Antoine Douglas; based in Brooklyn), Billy Joe Saunders, Hassan N'Dam, Willie Monroe Jr (fight would be whatever, but Monroe is also a New York-based fighter), and Chris Eubank Jr to begin with.
Golovkin needs to fight someone worth fighting, and he needs to do so soon (if he gets thrown in with another can, especially after this push from the general audience about how good a fighter he's supposed to be, the goodwill is going to leave real quick). Fighting Lara gives Golovkin that legit guy.Comment

Well... yes.
Well... yes. Bottom line is that GGG isn't a superstar and fighting Lara won't make him one. "Good fighters" wouldn't be relying on GGG to bring the money. They could bring it themselves. Lara gets 500k. That's GGG money right now. The only way this will change is if a big name boxer will fight GGG and GGG becomes a star himself.Comment

Sad but true. Had Lara engaged more, he would've won. His footwork was better, his jab and 1-2 down the middle was on point! But he looked to survive and not fighting for the win. I still had it a draw. However, beating Vanes is not getting it done, if you want a rematch. Beating Jacobs, Saunders, or GGG, that's a difference maker! Haymon should launch Lara's MW career with a fight vs. Quillen in Miami! And I wouldn't want to see that rematch. He called Canelo out right after he fought. Talked soo much sht how he was going to DESTROY Canelo. Knock him out. Take his head off... And then he RAN!!! He didn't even engage he turned around and Ran from corner to corner. He probably would of beat Canelo if he tried to even remotely fight. For being much faster then Canelo is connect % was dog sht. And how the HELL does a slick boxer land almost the same amount of punches against a slow plodder??? Who can't even cut the ring off... Lara LOST the fight. I know he was probably pissing blood from some of those NASTY body punches Canelo landed. Can't remember what round maybe 5 or 6 but Canelo landed a vicious body shot that shook the ring and in between the rounds Lara looked like he was going to cry.Comment
