I think a lot has to do with his change of style, he was with that Cuban trainer that had him fighting off his back foot which goes totally against Vargas strengths. I wasn't really a fan of Vargas until the Tim Bradley fight and not because of the 12th either, I think he gave a good showing in a loss, Tims overwhelming but he never lost hope ie. Bam Bam Rios... Its good that he got that training from the Cubans though just in case he has to fall back on it 1 day but he is better served coming forward behind a jab and sneaking in that right within his range.
