At a Catchweight? Sure why not. What about at 170?

It's no worse than GGG vs Brook. Let's be honest.

No way Kovalev could make that healthily. He was struggling bad to make 175 and only recently after changing his whole diet and work out routine has he been able to make weight a little more comfortably. Plus, even he could it would tske away from the fight. They would need to do the full 175.

There are two Bernard Hopkins' - the fighter and the promoter. When he made this comment it came after Canelo decided he wasn't going to fight Golovkin and he received a ton of backlash, the promoter Hopkins was protecting one of his own with these types of comments. We see Hopkins that promoter contradict himself all the time. When he talks about Mayweather without his promoters hat, he says he's the best fighter in the world, no one is beating him, etc. When he has his promoter hat on, it's Mosley will KO Floyd . You have to take his comments with a grain of salt.

There isn't anything wrong with Hopkins. He does not want to be surpassed by a white guy. He knows GGG is talented and on the verge of breaking the record for most defenses. Of course he wants him to move up before that happens.

Hopkins was boxing long before age 23. Bernard started boxing as a child and was prison champ before he turned pro.

Hopkins turned pro at age 23. Golovkin turned pro at age 24.

brook has naturally outgrown the welterweight division and GGG is a small middleweight, had wade towering over him. Kovalev is a big light heavyweight

Hopkins had an amateur career before prison and was part of a very strong prison boxing program.

Anyway, all of that is useless. It's one mans opinion.

I personally felt the key to Froch's career to being a great was to fight and beat top 175lb fighters. Hopkins may feel the same for GGG, although 168 would make more sense.
