Tyson's "Opponents Lost Before They Got Hit" Applicable To Anyone Today? (VIDEO)

Mike Tyson used psychological intimidation to scare his opponents prior to entering the ring as he details in the video clip below. His brand of fear really played upon the imminent punishment and brutality that the opponent was about to face, rather than perhaps the skill and finesse that they had to contend with. While Tyson was sometimes quite vocal and aggressive in pre-fight build ups, at other times even with a quiet and calm demeanour his opponents could still get just as anxious and disturbed before the fight.

So who else has a similar sort of presence in boxing at this point, where their opponents are sometimes deeply affected psychologically before the fight simply at the prospect of facing them? And not just restricted to fear of getting beaten brutally but widen it to include the fear of getting completely outclassed with skill.

I think a lot of Golovkins opponents lose before they get hit or they talk themselves into it & as soon as they taste that power they shut down.
The most recent opponent, whatever his name was I think he came too win but as soon as he felt his power he **** himself and didn't know what to do.
Could instantly see he'd never felt that sort of power before.

      Joshua is another.
I think only Dillian Whyte and Matt Legg came to actually win. The rest to just find a soft spot on the canvas to lay down.

If that was the case his top opponets would not have called him overatted and so on.....that's a myth that everyone was afraid of him, they maybe were afraid to take a clean shot but being Afraid in general? nope. Maybe spinks but that's about it with the top guys he fought.

One example was Frazier Sr. and Marvis talking how overatted and untested. he was, even calling him average, which im assuming why Tyson nearly took his head off in 30 seconds.Ruddock was so confident he thought for sure Tyson would fall and he would be able to physically man handle him because of the great size advantage he had,ppl just cant except prime Tyson was the true real deal, and when motivated was as unbeatable as a fighter can be. you even had so called experts like B.sugar picking Spinks to win on points.

I don't even know if it was really true. Just because somebody says something doesn't make it true. Any fighter that afraid of Tyson could avoid all possible problems by not fighting Tyson in the first place. Tyson was a vicious fast two handed puncher. That's what got him all those early KOs and not some fear factor.

Golovkin's opponents are doomed from the beginning because Golovkin has an unfair advantage due to the gloves that he uses. It has nothing to do with his opponents being afraid or intimidated by him.

If he fights Alvarez, I guarantee Alvarez will beat him because Golovkin will not be allowed to wear gloves that give him an unfair advantage. Without those gloves, Golovkin is just an average fighter.

Has been? Bro he just beat Holmes twice, took his zero and his lineal title. Spinks was undefeated, an ATG at LHW, and was coming off two wins vs. an ATG HW.

One of the most underrated wins on any resume is Tyson's win over Spinks.
