      Responding to the OP:

This is spot on and something I've been saying for years. The amount of mental pressure he puts guys under is crazy because of the amount of feints (more than feints - actual throws but with no power) and he's so well balanced. He just cycles through a combo without throwing any of the punches with power until he gets to a punch in the combo that he knows he can throw with real power and it has a good chance of landing. He's perfectly happy to throw away 3 or 4 shots in a combo and forces the opponent to try to defend against these possible shots with real power (this is when they opponent has been cornered and has nowhere to go) - then...BOOM! He spots the gap and throws with real power. Very hard to defend against and mentally draining even when he isn't throwing the actual power shots.

        Alvarez happily murks gennady.

gennady won't have an answer when faced with a strong fighter who will stand his ground and break his body down inside

gennady gets shown up by Alvarez.

His steady diet of lower level opposition has left him ill-prepared for elites.

Age isn't what makes you a shot fighter, Wars are. Cotto's been in brutal wars. One in particular some believe he was hit with bricks. GGG has never been in a war and has never even been put down. He's still fresh. bruv lol

We are talking about the same Canelo that couldn't stop a midget war beaten version of Cotto.

Nobody has countered GGG or troubled him with defensive work because he's not fought anyone good enough to do so.

Gabe Rosado and Lemieux are not quite slicksters.

why come Canelo couldn't stand his ground against pillow throwers Trout and Mayweather?

he's fought dirrell and bute(who was pretty slick until he stiffened up due to age).

he did very well boxing them with big gloves and headgear.

You're right. Kinda unfair to compare GGG to a man who beat Tommy Hearns and moved up to HW.
