Because he's 39, had a tremendous career, and still has his faculties in tact. If Mayweather keeps fighting eventually he will lose. There isn't much need for him to risk his well being when he's got nothing left to prove and enough money to last his family generations.

I don't think mayweather will retire undefeated. As long as he got that 0 people will keep giving Floyd crazy paydays that he can't resist to turn down.

People have remember after the government, managers, trainers, cutmen and training expenses fighters net about 20 to 25 cents on the dollar. This is why many fighters that made a few million have financial problems as they only netted in the hundreds of thousands.

This brings up an interesting point. I just finished watching Canelo vs Khan 24/7 Episode 2 and Khan insisted that he wanted the fight at 153 and that Canelo declined. What I don't get is how it would have even been considered a MW fight if Khan wanted it at 153 in the first place?

Khan used to believe himself as the next cash cow after Floyd and Manny. He sees himself at that level, but after a few duds, his star dimmed a bit. He went after Floyd, then Manny and failed to secure those fights, so he saw Canelo as the next best thing. Canelo, to continue holding on to the belt, would have to fight above 154.

In a nutshell, Khan is after a high profile fight and cares little for the strap, while Canelo is interested in keeping the strap, and using a big name like Khan to keep GGG at bay and wbc in his pockets.
