He can make the effort to go down to 154 if Floyd is doing an effort to go up to 154, that's what is called a catchweight...

    155 isn't a catchweight, it's Caneloweight.

And you don't know if he can make 154 since he never did.
They just said it in order to try to make a Floyd fight.
They SAID they can make 154 but never DID.

Oscar thought he could make 145 for Manny and was beaten to pulp.
This fight at 150 would have probably been a lot more competitive and interesting.

Fighters like Golovkin, and to a lesser extent Pacquiao, who are essentially being pimped..... are adored as warriors.

But fighters like Ward/Garcia, who stand up for their rights, are b1tches.

A lot of you fans are ****sexuals, I'm sure of it.

        And what about the rest?

A-sides usually never ask a fighter to go down 5 lbs or more, except Pac for Oscar, Ward for Dawson, Leonard for Lalonde.

An GUESS WHAT, all the guys going down in weight lost all the rounds before getting KTFO.

So GGG should sign at 155 and probably lose his undefeated record, lose his first big fight in order to get a big payday?

Do you really think a 5 lbs weight drained GGG beat Canelo?
        I don't think so.
If B-Hop can make 156 at age 39, and beat Oscar, then GGG, at age 34, can make 155, and beat Canelo:

        October 31, 2015:

Veteran trainer/broadcaster, Teddy Atlas, has weighed in on the issue of ‘Canelo’ Alvarez insisting Gennady Golovkin must come to 155 for any future middleweight fight, suggesting that even if it’s technically wrong, the Mexican’s greater star power means he can essentially call the shots regardless.

Alvarez must first come past WBC champion, Miguel Cotto, in next month’s Mexico/Puerto Rico mega fight before any Golovkin fight is even considered, although should he do that and inherit the Kazakh WBA/IBF champion as his mandatory challenger, Atlas shares the opinion of many realists that in this money driven sport, Canelo’s proven box office record may well end up dictating the terms of any potential fight.

Alvarez’s last fight in May – a non-title affair against James Kirkland, the week after the Mayweather/Pacquiao disappointment, generated roughly 2.1 million viewers, the highest rated HBO fight since 2006. Conversely, Golovkin’s (PPV) debut on the broadcasting giant, against David Lemieux earlier this month in a middleweight unification, just pushed past the 150k mark, despite all the pre-fight hype and selling out Madison Square Garden. His last [non-PPV] fight with Willie Monroe in May, hit the 1.3m viewer mark.

“[Canelo] makes money. He’s got a great audience, a great, great Latino audience, the greatest boxing audience in the world. He has that power,” Atlas said to ESNews.

“Canelo has that audience, he has that power. He can do good PPV numbers and because of that (power) he can demand that because Golovkin can’t make big money. Golovkin can make good money, decent money, but not big money.

“If Golovkin wants to [generate more buys and money] he has got to probably do that with someone like Canelo who’s more known and more popular than him. I get it. If [Canelo} can demand [155] and get away with that, I get it.

“What I don’t like is doing [a catchweight] and calling it a middleweight title fight,” he added. “You can go ahead [with the catchweight] but don’t make it for a title. The middleweight division is 160 lbs.”

But, he would have beaten Mayweather ?

I don't think so either, they are full of ****.

If they can get 157, then they should take it.

            And so should Canelo.

sadly there is not a rule against CWs on title fights, if both fighters agree the WBC will sanction the fight...

Weak argument, B HOP is B HOP, GGG is GGG.

B HOP is ranked top 5 in a division at 50 years old, doesn't mean, others fighters should/can do that.

And Canelo has been fighting at 155 his last 4 fights, this farce needs to end ASAP for the sake of boxing.
This guy needs pick a division, 154 or 160.

Mayweather is a 147 pounders, and not a big one, so it makes more sense to me and I give GGG a bigger shot.

Depending on how he can be competitive at 154 and we'll probably never know.

                    Mikey's lawyers did.

Then, Mikey decided that he would prefer to take a holiday rather than be exploited and treated like a b1tch.

How many fighters have either left Arum, or waited him out ?

How many do you think will leave Haymon in the next 10 years ?

And why do you think that is ?
Fighters sign the contracts. The contract is the contract. They know Arum's and Top Rank's history and that doesn't keep them from signing with them. At that point, either fight it out or buy it out but you don't sit out two years.

They said a lot of things they never did, I will just add this to the list.

What it comes down to is risk/reward, and it appears they don't want nothing to do with Canelo at 155.

                      Just a point regarding this.....
                      " 155 isn't a catchweight, it's Caneloweight ".

So, when considering Mayweather, a catchweight is acceptable..... but not a HIGHER catchweight, simply because of the opponent..... not sure if I can swing with that one...... if Golovkin can make 154, then he can make 154.

That is kinda like Golovkin fighting Froch at 168, but then demanding 164 for Ward..... which was basically Golovkin-weight.

Also, to Canelo..... 160 is Golovkin-weight.

If Golovkin can make 154 and be healthy, then whats the problem ?

If he can't make 154 and be healthy..... then he sure as hell wasn't gonna beat Mayweather.
