I believe he was hurt. But I also believe he could have continued. He tried to pull a Charles Martin - and the ref wasn't having it. MAKE him quit.

Victor talked all that crap about Berto and PEDs. If he got stopped by a non-PED Berto, it means Victor is way declined. At this point, the only solution is to face Chris Algieri. If Algieri makes him quit...he DEFINITELY needs to hang 'em up and never show his face again.

Did you miss the fact that he got hit with some ****ing monster shots? I think he was genuinely out of it, that much is actually very obvious to anyone with any brain whatsoever, but whether he could have continued...meh, he would have just got beaten anyway. I dunno. It is what it is. He was obviously very hurt, and quite out of it, but who knows how much.

What's not arguable is that he was hit with some genuinely big, hard, flush punches that would have dropped most fighters. At least that uppercut would have. That was a peach of a punch and not many fighters would be getting up from that alone.

Ortiz is a mental midget. He can't take the humiliation of getting beat up to see if he could possibly turn it around.

He actually said something a long those lines after Maidana beat him up in the post fight interview. That he didn't need to be taking those type of shots. That sounds something more a long the lines that the ref determines and usually not the fighter. Just saying...

This is why many boxers say you're never the same, be it mentally of course, but the slow motion replay of that devastating uppercut landed on the same trauma place when Lopez shattered the jaw, on the left side of the face.

Ortiz should quit tbh. Many NFL players are never the same either from pre-pro or pro from serious injuries.
So that explains why Arthur Abraham had such a horrible chin after Miranda. GTFO

Ortiz is what he is, people shouldn't have such high expectations with him. He hasn't been a real fighter for years now. I think he was legit hurt vs Berto and that his punch resistance has faded from inactivity.

There shouldn't have been any expectation of Ortiz/Berto II being a high level fight, it was more of a freak show. He's been done as a real fighter since his loss to Mayweather. In this fight, he was just a faded name they used to sell an event. Honestly it was a waste throwing Vic in with Berto. They could've used him to pump up someone like Porter, Broner, or Garcia in a stay busy fight.
