It's interesting that, more than usual, we shall be getting this type of matchups: puncher/brawler/swarmer vs. technician, i.e., deliberate/ "economical"/ slick fighter.

    Popo vs. Raheem

    Oscar vs. Mayorga

    MAB vs. Juarez

    Hatton vs. Collazo

Taylor vs. Wright (though Taylor's stoppages were TKOs and not outright KOs, he, nevertheless, has a much higher stoppage rate than Winky's 50%)

If Viloria- Calderon is made, it's going to be one of the type.

But the most anticipated meeting, I think, still is Corrales-Castillo III, which, based on the previous two editions, does not belong to the above category: it's going to be a brawl, pure and unmitigated.

And there's another one that does not belong to the category that I'd like to see as well: Joan Guzman- Jauregi.

Not only that Calderon has no power, he is 5 feet only. Vilora is 5' 4, not that much bigger. This weekend is Calderons 10th title defense (should be 11th, but his opponet couldnt make weight). I think he should fight Eagle Kyowa/Rodel Mayol winner than fight Vilora next year.

I know, I know friend that's why I said Calderon has the advantage in foot speed. But Villoria has a decent hands speed and with Roach in his corner I don't think It's going to be hard for the master tactician to lay out a fighting plan for Villoria. It's just a matter of Villoria putting the plan into play, If he doesn't Calderon will out boxed him.

It is an interesting Matchup. Puncher vs. Technician,

I just have to stick with the smarter fighter- Calderon.

Also, Amatuers are a completely different from Proffesional boxing.
Well yes Villoria was stunned in his last fight because Aguirre is no BUM or a push over. He is a seasoned campaigner who has almost twice Villoria's fight records and has a very high knockout percentage. Any lesser fighter could have gone down from those punches. As I said any fighter who steps inside that ring gets hit and Villoria is no exception.

As to Calderon it's most likely that you have missed that, I still can't remember who the opponent was, but it happened early last year and his opponent was a Mexican.

if mayol wins then this could be an interesting fight for us to anticipate, too! this is happening in may 20 (i hope my memory don't fail me again). but im afraid mayol is a much better counter-puncher than viloria and the former has power, too!! so is it gonna be tougher for calderon to aim for the winner? i think so and if that winner will be mayol.
