Calderon has no real competition at 105 so going up to 108 would be best for him.

Against Villoria? Interesting match up. There's no way Calderon can seriously hurt Villoria so I'm picking Villoria. Calderon has the advantage in foot speed but Villoria has a decent hand speed and power. If Calderon would be riding his "bicycle" how can he score against Villoria?

Of course you would pick the Pinoy, who is significantly slower and has inferior boxing skills.

Viloria may have power, but you cant KO what you cant hit. Calderon doesn't ride his "bicycle", he boxes hits and doesn't get hit. His landing percentage is incredible, and there is nobody in boxing that can bob and weave like him. This would be a blow out UD for Calderon.

Calderon may be top Dog at 105 but at 108 its a different story...

Ivan mentioned he got BEAT TWO (2x) by Villoria in the amateurs and he also beat Brian in a qualifier, they where evenly matched at that time, both have improved and both are world champs, Ivan perfected his boxing skills, while Brian got a LOT stronger, so its grossly immature for anyone to say that the fight will be a blowout for any of these two figthers ...

          BRIAN=KO/TKO(50%) = IVAN = UD(50%)

I don't pick fighters based on nationality so what are you implying when you said "of course I'll pick the pinoy"? I'm not a Filipino and Villoria is also not a Pinoy.

I've seen Calderon's last 5 fights and just can't remember who was the opponent who smacked him with a solid punch and all he did after that was run away and finish the fight on his "running mode" because he knew he was already ahead on points. So don't ****i'n tell me that he never rides his bike and he never gets hit. Everybody who goes into that ring and fight gets hit that's for real.

Inferior boxing power? Significantly slower? That's just your own insinuation. Calderon himself declared that they have met 3 times in the amateurs and Villoria beat him twice.

geez ive been harping about this since brian's first defense and im glad ivan is finally taking notice. i saw calderon's last 3 bouts and he was displayed very good, i mean top notch ring generalship but he lacked the the fire power and that sting to finish the opponent. on the other hand, brian has a real test going if this fight pushes, and can only win shuold he slug it out early. otherwise, ivan might outsmart him

Viloria was stunned in his last fight with Aguirre. you are insinuating that Calderon was stunned in a fight and then ran? when was this? I must have missed this fight. As a matter a fact, Ive never seen Calderon in a close fight, he has blown out almost all of his opponents, winning almost every round.

It is an interesting Matchup. Puncher vs. Technician,

I just have to stick with the smarter fighter- Calderon.

Also, Amatuers are a completely different from Proffesional boxing.

We have to remember that Villoria went down from 112 to 108 cause he cant get a titleshot at Fly.And Calderon is moving up from 105 to 108.So at their their natural fighting weights is 7 lbs apart.Thats alot in the lower weight classes...

I say Brian wins this one.He has the obvious size advantage and he is not exactly what you call a slow boxer.Calderon may have ring generalship, but bottomline is, his punches wouldnt hurt Viloria. If Calderon can only KO 5 people as a minimum, how much pop do you think his punches will hold at junior fly?

And dont tell me, he cant hit Calderon. This is boxing and of course people are gonna get hit.Even RJJ,who was freak in his prime, still got tagged by solid shots.Thing is Viloria has the power to end this at anytime of the fight.Ortiz, anyone??

The only way I see Calderon winning is by UD(Heck, almost all his victories are UD) and yes, riding bicycle to avoid Viloria for the entire 12 rounds.Which I highly doubt he can.

And yes, did I forget to mention Brian has won 2 of their 3 fights before? ;p

Im a big calderon fan, but on another note, i really think Arum hates Floyd Mayweather.
He badmouths him any chance he can get.
