Lol and when Haymon runs out of money?

I thought he wanted a homecoming soon too? Has he considered that Hearn was the last promoter with TV dates in the UK he hadn't fallen out with?

He could head to Dave I guess. But he's less popular than David Haye and they're not able to compete with Sky for £££ anyway.

As someone else said this is unnecessarily burning his bridges.

It's actually Eddie who is burning bridges.

Degale is doing what is best for his career, getting paid big to fight abroad.

Hearn isnt willing to come out of pocket, that's his loss. Why should Degale fight for pittance, while Eddie lines up his own pockets with the gold bullion.

Eddie better get on his knee's and pay homage to King Al Haymon

Before you know it Al will have a deal with Sky and Eddie can go naff off back to promoting darts

There is where the problem starts. Al take care of his fighters, yet everyone wishes him to fail.. WHY.

That's what is called being a smart business man and one hell of a manager. That is how businesses operate.

Don't you get it. All this hate for Al and his fighters is doing nothing but keeping his name and boxers in people mouths. Everyone is laughing about his ratings but once he get the contract he wants from these networks, he'll come out and give that one interview that everyone will be glued to the T.V to watch, and then he will do nothing but put on 50/50 fights on free aired networks. In which case he won't have to worry about licence fees or promotional rights or nothing like that because the networks will have those things on lock. Just like they do for other sports.

And I suppose Haymon is doing all this out of the kindness of his heart?

Hearn and Matchroom are not exactly making massive amounts of money from boxing and his fighters are certainly not getting a bad deal, far from it. Haymon is certainly giving fighters like DeGale an even better deal but how long will that last? Hearn didn't make a bigger purse bid offer because he doesn't want to lose money on a fighter that he cannot properly invest in. What is amusing is how Hearn put on such a happy brave face when some of his fighters started to sign with Haymon, like he was happy about that, when clearly he wasn't. However Haymon will not be supplanting Hearn in Britain, you'd probably get better odds on Haymon having a stroke than that happening.

I agree with you. It's mystery to me too.

His venture will eventually succeed (especially when the fighters are happy and no fighter is complaining), when he makes all the promoters work for him, and stations paying him to have PBC. It can even be a subscription channel, like HBO and Showtime. I think that's the grand idea.

Good luck, Al. War Haymon Boxing!

I always thought there seemed to be an issue between the two going back to when Froch was fighting and was obviously Hearn's favourite. I dont think DeGale took too kindly to that.

Fair play to DeGale, it's his career and he can do as he pleases. It's a shame him and Hearns probably won't work together again though. As i think DeGale is missing a trick not fighting on big cards here in the UK every now and again.

That's true, i never thought of that being a catalyst for their beef. I do think Eddie Hearns favouritism towards some fights doesn't bode too well with his stable. He doesn't make no bones about his favourites either, he's admitted to cutting the budget of the Crolla Barros undercard so he could pay Crolla more. I mean, i'm all for boxers earning what they can but that's taking up someone elses opportunity. Idk, maybe im reading too much in to that but it didn't quite sit right with me.
