Yes,it really is. If you have a dispute, you keep fighting, while your lawyers resolve it. You don't stop fighting, and sit on the shelf for 2 years and 4 months, not making any money, and wasting your prime. The guy stopped fighting at 130 and now he has to come back at 140 because he's been out so long.

Rumors floated by Floyd/Haymon fans that he's going to join Mayweather Promotions. Can't wait to see this happen.

Hope Schaefer comes on board as well. Floyd will save boxing.

Uh, that is not how you resolve a dispute, especially when it is in regards to the money you are supposed to be making while doing your job.

If there is no clarity in how much you are making, you don't work based on what could happen. There is a contract dispute, it is binding, it is a guarantee of how much you will be earning.

You work based on guarantees, not what ifs. What kind of logic is that?

            You unemployed?

Coach,no matter how you spin it,the guy sat out for 2 and a half years, and didn't see a penny, and was actually losing money due to the lawyer fees.So for that period of time,he was basically unemployed. He chose to make no money instead of less money, and thats a mistake in my book. And no, I myslef am not unemployed,I work 2 jobs and go to college as well.

                Spin what?

This common sense when you sign a contract.

There was supposed to be a guarantee on the money he was making while fighting, Top Rank were in breach of that.

If there is no guarantee that you are going to be making the money you agreed upon in the contract, you stop working and resolve the issue before you do any labour, especially in boxing. Nobody wants to being that job for free.

2 Jobs? and you don't know how a contract dispute comes about?

Exactly. He should have kept earning during the litigation. If his argument prevailed, the court would have awarded him the money in dispute, as well as his contractural freedom. At this point not only did he NOT get the money in dispute, but he lost any momentum his career had, and lost all the revenue he might have made in the past 2 years.

                  It was a bad decision.......

Great Move if he does this! I think signing with Haymon and building up his own Brand with his Brother as his Trainer is probably the best move for him. Mikey can be huge Draw in California and fill up Staple Center if Market Correctly. It is anticipation to see him return, with Haymon it puts him in position to have to best Dance Partners to fight and get back to the top
