I like Max a lot but I'd probably pick Al Bernstein over him if I were assembling a broadcasting dream team lol... Max sometimes falls too in love with a fighter's recent results-- which is a byproduct of his passion for boxing so you can't fault him too much! But still.. I remember when the dude was calling Edison Miranda the next possible superstar in boxing... Teddy Atlas once made a great point that Max is "easily impressed". All in all, Max is a genuine fan of the sport and a well informed commentator.

Funny that so many people are okay with him on NSB now-- I remember the EXTREME backlash he was receiving back when he first started regularly taking Merchant's spot as color commentator. Seems he's grown on folks.

He's alright but easily duped by his superiors over at HBO. He falls for hype very easily and always sells the in-house fighter.

Tough poll. On the one hand Max Kellerman ain't too bad, but on the other hand RicDaRula es mi papi. Difficult choice to make.

I understand Max Kellerman is no Larry Merchant but Mr Merchant is like 85 years old. Larry was not going to go on forever! Lampley is 67 and Lederman is 76. Emanuel Steward was 68 when he passed R.I.P. Al Bernstein is 65. Steve Farhood is 59 as well as Teddy Atlas.

So unless you count Paul "Paulie" Malignaggi at 35 Max is the new kid on the block!

Gotta to love old men who ain't afraid to tell it like it is!

I'm a big fan of Max. Even bigger fan of him and Marcellus Wiley together on SportsNation.

Dude is the only one representing in the mainstream for boxing. Everybody else is too busy smoking the MMA crack.

Plus, dude's a Hip-Hop head. How can you hate that?

Some people would say he is appropriating black culture and this is wrong. People might hate him for this.

I am Black and I don't see Max as appropriating our culture.

He doesn't overdo it and act like a ****** or something.

Dude just sprinkles his speech with Hip-Hop lyrics here and there. I can respect that.

Plus, he's a big fan of Ghostface, who is the best rapper of the past 20 years.

He's ok but he talks out of both sides of his mouth sometimes. He and his colleagues built up the Mayweather Pacquiao fight for years. Every time Floyd would fight they asked him about Manny and vice versa. When the two finally got it on in the ring and Floyd won, Max is now suggesting the result of the fight doesn't matter because Manny is the better pound for pound fighter anyway despite the fact that Manny has lost several times to guys smaller and less talented than Floyd.

He certainly knows his boxing but his bias sometimes gets in the way of his logic.
